We saw the advertisment for "Encore" so we gave it a try. We made open table reservations. I had the Rib Eye that was cooked perfect. Great steaks and great service.

This was my first visit to "The Skillet," but it likely won't be my last. The food was fantastic, the ambience was classic and cozy.
The waitstaff were friendly, cordial and exceedingly professional, even when dealing with a difficult guest (at another table. :) )
The prices are slightly higher than is common for the region, but the food and atmosphere took some of the sting from that.
I had Steak & Frites, cooked to perfection, and a "Skagit Burger" which served as the next day's lunch. Both were fantastic.
For great food, fine dining atmosphere, and friendly service, I would recommend Skagit Skillet for anyone.

Nikayla was our server and she was amazing. My husband and I are celebrating our 21st wedding anniversary and they gave us our appetizers. I had the Filet Mignon and it was cooked perfect. The sauce they put on it is so delicious. My husband had the Cowboy Beef Rib that came with a Chimichurrie sauce that was so good. Who needs steak sauce!!!!!! I cant say enough good about this restaurant. LOVE LOVE LOVE.

What a hidden gem! Had dinner. Rib eye, Fillet Mignon and burger were perfectly cooked and tasted great. Dressing on the Wedge was fantastic! Well presented! Will definitely go back to try other dishes.

Our first (and likely last) visit at this restaurant.
POSITIVES: pleasant, small establishment. Wonderful music from the 50s/60s. Only a few tables with folks who were mostly quiet diners, as are we.
NEEDS IMPROVEMENT: clearly does not have offerings for vegans or vegetarians. No soups. We settled for a cheese plate (3 very small pieces of cheese, some dry bread) and a Caesar salad (served uncut lettuce leaves covered with shaved Parmesan, minimal dressing). Incredibly pricey at $14 and $7, respectively. Service was slow to non-existent .... staff was focused on restocking salt/pepper, sweeteners, etc. or stayed in the back.
having to transit the noisy, excessively smoky casino to find the restaurant was a major detractor. The facility itself seems tired, worn out, dirty restrooms, staff standing around but not offering any assistance.
OUR RECOMMENDATION: skip this location and drive up to Silver Reef Casino in Ferndale. You’ll be glad you did.

I had the opportunity to attend a private tasting event at Encore, The Skagit Casino's new dining venue (opening soon).
Occupying the same space previously known as Skagit Skillet, Encore is the casino's new high-end dining room and given my experience this evening, an excellent addition to the local dining scene.
Our first course was a very tasty Lemon Garlic Shrimp served on a bed of Apple Slaw with a touch of Jalapēno and just enough garlic, herbs and olive oil artfully drizzled across the dish to satisfy both the eye and taste buds. This item paid perfectly with a crisp Acrobat Pinot Gris.
A Sonoma Cutrer Chardonnay balanced an artfully presented Wedge Salad featuring a slice of Iceberg Lettuce adorned with Apple Wood Smoked Bacon, Cherry Tomatoes, Avacado served on a pool of Creamy Blue Cheese Dressing with chunks of Blue Cheese crumbled on top.
Our third course was the Skagit Burger Slider which paired perfectly with a surprisingly tasty Red Wine Blend from The Crusher. Made with Kobe Beef from Snake River Farms and accented with more Apple Wood Smoked Bacon, Three-Garlic Aioli, Gruyere, Crispy Fried Onions and served on a Housemade Black Sesame Seed Bun, this slider was one of the best burgers I've eaten in the West Coast. And if you like fries, you'll love the Hand Cut Truffle Fries.
Our fourth course was a spectacular Petite Filet Mignon featuring a wonderful Pinot Noir reduction over Prime Tenderloin and served with Toasted Almonds and crumbled Point Reyes Blue Cheese.
The Francis Coppola Blue Label Merlot was no match for this perfectly prepared piece of meat, but the Scalloped Potatoes and Asparagus provided just enough color and variety to balance and enhance both flavor and presentation.
Finally, the Dessert Course was served with a generous pour of Graham's Six Grapes Porto Anand features three Housemade Sweets: Chocolate Decadence; Salted Caramel Cheesecake and a properly prepared Creme Brulee.

We used to really like this place a couple of years ago. It had a wonderful and diverse menu. A few months ago we went back and ALL they had was high priced steak in a cheap diner setting . The food and service was NOT good at all.
I looked them up on the internet today AND it appeared they had drastically changed their menu which appeared MORE like tne old diverse menu. We get in and are seated. We are the only ones in the room. We took a look at the menu and with the exception of three salads - NO starter salads and/or soup. My husband ordered an ice tea and asked for a straw. Omg they have discontinued them as they are saving the Planet . Hahaha the place is filled with smoke and they have said absolutely NO non smoking section ever.
We were told that the deli had cob salads. We wemt over there. The cashier argued with me for almost five minutes telling me that a chef salad IS a cob. No it is NOT.
When i talked to a "manager " about this she told me to fill out a form. Fed up with this place and their stupid changes. News flash an upscale steakhouse does NOT fit this place.
Btw somebody was smoking in the deli. Nobody had any concern at ALL. Stay away!!

Kind of an over-attentive waitress, coming by every 3 minutes. The steak was alright, but had lots of fat left untrimmed. Seems like a premium environment, but the food didn't match that.
