The Terrace Restaurant At The Ryebeck

My husband and I absolutely loved our stay at The Ryebeck. We stayed for three nights and enjoyed breakfast and dinner there each day. The delicious breakfast fueled us for a busy day of sightseeing, and drinks on the terrace and dinner in the dining room rewarded us well at the end of a long day. The attentive staff, the amazing food, and the comfortable country house and its natural, yet elegant setting were perfect as we explored the Lake District. The old house and property are a treasure. The front and rear gardens were beautiful and a delight to explore. Old mature plantings mixed with new tells of a house and property that was much loved long ago and is now looking to renew itself. The lounge and bar were lovely and comfortable and opened onto the terrace and dining room respectively. Wifi was available but restricted to the lounge and bar areas. While our room was very comfortable and very clean, it was not elegantly or finely fitted like a high end inn might be. But that didn't matter; the room had a gorgeous picture window with an incredible hill and lake view to look out on over and over again. As well, all the details of the room were well thought out and staff were very obliging if we needed anything special. We would definitely go back. We are still dreaming of all the delicious dinners that never disappointed.
