Village Inn - Bowness-on-Windermere - Photo album

This place has so much seating inside and outside so we managed to get a seat very easily. The staff were so polite and ensured we were ok throughout our whole visit here. The food came quicker than expected and was extremely good and tasty. The price of the food was very reasonable.
Whilst on holiday in Bowness on Windermere we decided to check into the Village Inn for an evening meal. I opted for Lasagne, Julie had Gammon Steak and our daughter had Mac and Cheese. Lasagne came with salad and garlic bread which was done to perfection. Gammon steak was with chips that were done
Self service (order at the bar with your table no), usual pub fare. Battered fish was over fried, but the chicken and steak pies were enjoyable. No mustard available for the steak pie. Large outside eating area. Well located in the heart of Bowness. Overall 3.5 stars but have rounded up as it was do
We had lunch here before taking a boat ride. Honestly, best chicken katsu curry we had in England. Didn't expect to find it in Lake District, we had ordered it dubiously. "Chicken katsu curry, here of all places?" No regrets! The fries next to the katsu sauce absorbed it a bit and became quite amaz
Great place. A very good size. Does get very busy. Dog friendly with a dog menu and do dog drinks to offer. Great food menus with lots of choice. Typical pub food. Some good size tvs if you fancy the sports. Will definitely returne.
It's been over 18 years since our last visit, this time we came with our two teenage boys - one of whom was celebrating his 13th birthday that very day. It wasn't busy and we were greeted by a friendly member of staff. We found a table, ordered our food with no fuss, and it was cooked and served pro
Such a nice Pub / restaurant. Dog friendly and the barman’s and waiters are fantastic and kind. Good atmosphere. Definitely recommend the food and having a sundowner.
Called in for evening meals, we don't eat meat but found they had a good selection of fish and vegetarian options, food and drinks were fine and reasonably priced, part of the Greene King chain. Option to sit in or outside if the weather is nice, family and dog friendly, no complaints.
We walked out of another restaurant due to rude staff and found this place up the road. We were met with a friendly bartender and waitress and ordered our food which came out at a good time. Etiquette goes a long way. If only other people knew this.
Fantastic place. Service was spot on, taking great care of my wife's allergies. Food was simply amazing (the beef goulash is a must) and even our puppy was catered for. Will definitely be back next time we are over this way.
First visit to Village Inn. And was not disappointed. Staff very pleasant and pub was well staffed. Had two shared dishes, chicken wings and chicken strips. And both dishes very nice. Plenty of choices on larger and beer. Will return, thanks to all at village inn
Called in for tea on a Monday night as they have vegan options and after a long walk the vegan mushroom & ale pie was just the ticket. Lovely pastry not too thick, plenty gravy and oven cooked chips. My only suggestion would be a few more chips and ditch the broccoli for mushy peas and it would b
I'm a hungarian man who loves my national dishes Goulash (gulyas),and I was surprised how good it was. Please keep your cook! Good job sir! Omg how good is the staff lady especially on the bar. Thank you for making my birthday so special 💗
Food was good, well priced. Staff are very friendly. Dog friendly and even do dog menu food. Would definitely recommend this place if your looking for a relaxed place to take a breather after an afternoon of walks and shopping
We stayed for a week in Bowness and wanted a nice pub meal one night with the kids. We were regulars at the Village Inn before it got taken over by Greene King and were gutted when it changed hands as the food was exceptional. However, after our visit my reservations were wrong. We have had some te
The Hungarian Goulash was as amazing as it was advertised on their boarding before you entered the pub, me and my girlfriend enjoyed the meal. I've never tried Hungarian Goulash before and it was amazing.... The staff were very friendly and polite, I would strongly recommend paying this pub a visit.
