Fantastic food. Excellent for Gluten Free. Vegan and vegetarian options available also. Very helpful and nice staff. Nice relaxed atmosphere. Can't wait to go back

When I booked dinner last week it sounded as if they were so short of staff we might not get fed at all. However on the day we were welcomed, shown to a table and our order taken promptly. The food, wild venison arrived with a lovely bottle of red wine. An excellent meal.

A wonderful relaxed atmosphere. Superbly cooked food. The staff were friendly and good humoured. The steak, venison and fish were faultless. Many more exclusive and more expensive restaurants could learn alot from them.
As a side note (but an important one) they were also brilliant with dietary need

Delicious meal, sizeable portions, local beers and nice gin selection. The staff was friendly and welcoming, even though it was busy they found a table for us.

Good COVID setup, well spaced tables and ventilated. Food was good quality, had two courses, would recommend the burger, great value and taste although difficult to eat.
Only slight issue was no whisky on the drinks menu, so when we ordered a single (and were served a double) it was unexpectedly ex

Cozy restaurant with good variety of local and international food. We had four different main courses and all were tasty and fresh.

Tempted out of our usual veggie inclinations by the great range of steaks and venison. Well worth it: absolutely delicious! And the profiteroles were outstanding!
Excellent service, despite being short-staffed. You have to book though, as they're limiting numbers at the moment.

Nine of us staying on the very swanky Mar estate just up the road. We had enjoyed friends cooking for us on a couple of nights, this booking a chance for them to enjoy a rest.
For me scallops, then venison followed by lemon posset!
In short - very, very good indeed! This was top quality ingredients

Went twice. Both times we received excellent service and exceptional meals. There were 8 meals in total over the 2 days allowing us to see a variety of dishes. All were fantastic but of particular note was the pork skewers and the venison.

Third time lucky due to two previous storm power cuts. Oh so worth waiting for as food was fabulous. Highly recommend, we had Prawn paprika kebabs & a soufflé to start both just delicious. Followed by Sea Bream, Sea Bass with prawns, venison & the perfect fillet steaks. Landed in Braemar at 8pm after a long day travelling with a 2 year old. Co - Op was closed despite advertising opening until 10pm. Nowhere to buy food, or anything for that matter.
The Cairn Grill were fully booked, closing shortly and weren't doing takeaway. Thankfully they very kindly took pity an

The approach to the Cairn Grill is a little odd, as it is underneath the old village bank, so you have to go down some steps or a ramp to get in. Inside, the restaurant is beautifully decorated with a feature fire and an unusual pyramid roof.
We visited as a family of 6, and thoroughly enjoyed our m

Excellent ambience and great service. Well covid spaced and very safe. Starter of scallops beautifully cooked, followed by main course of tender venison. Dessert attracted the ladies only. Overall a lovely evening shared with long term friends.

If you want to know what a perfectly cooked steak tastes like, come here. The Cairn Grill are absolute masters at it. 2 of the best sirloin steaks my wife and I have had, ever. 1 medium and 1 medium-rare. Both spot on. Good covid measures as well as good service. Dine in confidence.

Nice environment and helpful staff, reasonable prices. Cullen skunk was good, burger a bit less so: the bun had been overzealously seared, making the whole thing taste of charcoal. Ditched the bun and the meat was a bit overdone but good quality, and with tasty fries and onion rings.

Booked a table following a recommendation, good Covid protocol on arrival. We had starters and mains and were absolutely stuffed, food very tasty, with a good selection of dishes. Staff very accomodating and made us liquor coffees even though not on the menu! Couple of suggestions, there should be a

Fabulous meal, tempura prawns starter were hot crispy and delicious. Halumi Berger was spot on and my partner had the sirloin steak cooked just so. Staff, very friendly and attentive, not easy when you're wearing a visor but all felt comfortable and following Covid regulations.

I had the sweet chilli chicken wings for my starter, made with fresh chillies, very hot and spicy. Followed by the venison.
Really good meal, I'll definitely be going back. 10/10
