We ate here twice last week whilst on our holidays and the food was lovely, steak was cooked to perfection. The only thing that did bother me slightly was the older small lady serving the meals to the table did not give our party of 4 the chance to finish our meals before coming over to take our pl

Lovely, friendly staff. Inside was a little run down and soft drinks served from bottles, rather than the taps, but as its coming to the end of season, absolutely understandable. Food was very nice.

We were lured upstairs by the sign outside the chippy saying you could eat your food in there. Nice inside, really friendly guy on the bar, drinks reasonably priced, what more do you want? Would return

Not quite sure what to make of The Place. I have visited several times over the years and always think the same. Firstly the main attraction; the food, is generally very good (rated 4* accordingly). But the service is rather lackluster. The staff smile when speaking etc but it just comes across as

We were on a long cycle ride and came across The Place. We had a drink and a nice lunch but we're most impressed by the lovely people working there. Prices were very good too. Thank you for making this a very pleasant visit.

Usually I have my carvery in a nearby restaurant but gave this "Place" a try. Glad that I did. The carvery was excellent with more choices of vegetables than my usual choice of restaurant. Place was clean and the staff nice. The meal was good value.

Very friendly staff do anything for you kids and dog friendly sunday lunches are gorgeous everything home made pizzas are to die for

Entertainment on some evenings during summer. Bar reached via a couple of flights of stairs.
