One of the best Jewish delis in New York City. Absolutely love this place. Some of the best comfort food in New York.

The food is first rate, great matza ball soup and corn beef/pastrami sandwiches. The service also has been great,, waitresses with a new York attitude. My only bone to pick is if I'm paying Katz's prices, then I may as well go to Katz's for the experience/atmosphere.

Delicious food even though the bread was dry. We would definitely be back to give them another try, and I would recommend asking for the bread to be toasted. There are plenty more options to choose from, and they looked pretty good. We got the pastrami sandwich and a tuna and coleslaw sandwich. The tuna and coleslaw were much better and tasted delicious. The pastrami was great, but the sandwich was ok, nothing more. Overall, I would recommend trying it out and asking for the bread to be different from white or toasted.

The real deal for Jewish Deli! Historic restaurant with some of the best comfort food in NYC! The pastrami was lean and delicious . The noddle pudding was perfect. The kasha was ok, not the flavor I remember probably due a change in ingredients. Overall this is a place every visitor to NYC should try at least once for the old school experience. You might just fall in love with the food, the old style building, and the very personable staff!

This place, while maybe appearing like an overpriced tourist trap, is one of the best Jewish diners I’ve been to. I split both the matzo ball soup and pastrami sandwich with my mother. The presentation of the soup was a nice touch, but what I really loved was the food itself. The broth was a bit light but very enjoyable, the carrots were perfectly steamed to a balance of crisp and mush, and the matzo ball was buttery and soaked up the flavor of the soup very well. The pastrami sandwich came with a generous portion of pastrami, which was juicy and flavorful. The rye bread was nice and the challah bread the matzo ball soup came with was perfectly fluffy and just a little sweet. Aside from the amazing food, the service and atmosphere of this place is also incredible. I only wish the prices were lower so I could come more often!

Honestly, this place deserves 10 stars. We stopped in for lunch and everything was absolutely phenomenal. The pastrami sandwich was the best I've ever had, and it's not even close. My wife got an apple strudel, and it tasted like it was made with love. I would legitimately go back to NYC just to eat here again.

The food here was absolutely amazing. We had soups, pickles and a slaw and everything was great. The service was good and so is the atmosphere. Highly recommend coming here for a good fresh meal. I had the corned beef sandwich, which was the best I’ve ever had.

I spent my morning at the New York Historical Society. The Jewish Deli exhibit was exceptional. It also sparked a desire to go to the 2nd Avenue Deli. I ordered the Hot Pastrami on Rye. It was incredible. It was moist and delicious. It took me back 30 years ago eating a pastrami sandwich with my now deceased father.

Don't miss the matzo ball soup and the hot corn beef /pastrami sandwich. This place has an old newyork charm to it. We went here on a Sunday afternoon and had to wait for atleast 20mins. Consider that if you visit it in peak hours. The prices are moderately expensive but there isn't any place in the neighborhood like it. The food makes up for the extra bucks. If you like katz's you have to come here. We liked everything we ordered, the stuffed cabbage was a little too sweet for my taste, but was well cooked. The slaw was absolutely delicious. Good service overall, we had no complaints.

Crazy good. Best matzo ball soup I've ever eaten. Pastrami Sammie too big to eat. Wait staff super friendly. Great customer service. Will be my new fave each time I'm in the city.
