Swankys Taco

Carrefour at Kirby is still thriving despite the economy and Swanky's taco shop is still some of the best authentic Taco restaurants in Memphis. I came in today and got the egg rolls for a change. They tortillas are always fried lightly and so crispy, you can count on the ingredients being fresh. The salsa and spicy ranch are so good you can dip anything in them but go perfect with the egg rolls. They might be an appetizer but it's plenty to fill you up.

I was a little skeptical of coming here because it looked so dead, but after tasting the food I can see why there was only one other family there. The food here was horrible. I got the chicken quesadilla thinking it would be good since it was something simple, but the chicken was not tasty at all and I didn’t like the cheese that was used. The barbecue on the nachos were cold and the overall experience was not a good one being that I was a first time customer. I will not be returning!

This is not a place to eat. The young lady came around from the kitchen cursing. The food was heart attack food the amount of salt the put in the food. Let's not talk about the rice. Mexican rice is not suppose to be sunshine yellow. It's supposed to be orange. And the street taco. You have more cilantro the meat and the tortilla they serve it with. Let's stay it's not a tortilla. ****WARNING DONT EAT HERE*****

Online order was placed unknowingly while location was closed on a Sunday (out of town resident unaware of closed on Sunday). Poplar Ave location is refusing to refund money although the order clearly was never made, received or picked up.. business was closed. Will Swankys no more. Still in the process of trying to obtain refund without having to recite entire credit card number over the phone to whomever at that location is continuously asking each time I call from 4 hours away.. I have email and receipt. Aweful experience.
