Shogun Japanese Steakhouse

I love this place. It's great for birthdays and other celebrations. Just tell your server if you're celebrating and they will play traditional live music for your specific occasion. If you start singing Happy birthday in English they do both versions. The food is delicious and it's always a fun experience. Very very clean always. Full bar.

We went to Shogun tonight for dinner. Had a reservation for 10 people at 5:30. When we arrived, they only had us down for 5. Not a huge problem, they were able to seat us. Dinner was good, the server was nice. We ordered another round of drinks and paid our check. At this point it was 6:40 and several of us were still finishing our drinks. The host walks up to our table and says “Excuse me, you all need to leave. You have been here for over 2 hours and we have other people that need to be seated.” Then he turned around and walked away. 😳 We were all in disbelief of what just happened, even the table next to us couldn’t believe it! We got up from the table and walked to the bar area and asked to speak to a manager. When an older man with no name tag approached us, my friend casually pointed and asked if he was the manager. He quickly pointed out that he was the OWNER then started *yelling* that he didn’t appreciate being pointed at. When my husband told him that we were asked to leave the table he one again *yelling* said, “well of course. You’ve been here for too long, over 2 hours and we are very busy tonight.” 😳 He did all of this in front of children and other customers that were in the bar area. He refused to listen to anything we had to say. Very poor service on his part. I am completely baffled how he manages to stay in business while treating his customers this way. For the record, we were only there for a total of 1.5 hours but will NEVER go back there again. 😏

As a repeat customer, our latest visit was for Sunday lunch with a group of 6, we had to wait a few minutes to be seated (which was not a problem), but once a grill was ready we were seated promptly and was provided adequate spacing between us and other parties. The Shogun's team provided excellent service and was paid extra attention to food allergies we mentioned upon arriving. Great food, Great experience at a good price. Would highly recommend.

This is a great place where my family had dinner together. We had a birthday party here, the fat chef who cooked at our table was gruff and rude, but our waiter his name Kyle was very friendly and funny while singing happy birthday to my sister with a drum in incredible language, I enjoyed when he sang, and there was also cheesecake and ice cream after the meal. My family loves this place, and I hope my family doesn't see that fat chef next time. He is a nightmare.

I am so sad to be writing this review. I have lived in Franklin for over 10 years and I'm sad to admit when I lived closer it once a week (sometimes two times) spot for us. Yes they rush you through ordering and eating but my kids love the show and excitement and I love the food. We have not been there in a few weeks. My daughter begged and we planned it. I called and made a reservation we walked right in and were seated immediately. Our server came to the table to take our drink and food order. I have an allergy that most of the time I will just not eat something over having to admit I have it. Unfortunately in this case I just ask for the item to be left out, has never been an issue in the past. Our sever delivered our drinks to all the wrong people and forgot some of them. As a table of strangers we got it sorted out. Things could not have gone more down hill from there. Ended with my allergy food being served, having the chef making disrespectful fun of us to another table (again, whatever, I am not there to make friends with him, I'm just here for the food) and then completely south by verbally attacking me. The manager did absolutely nothing and ultimately we ended up leaving. Where am I going and what am I doing in this hand basket!?!?

We enjoyed celebrating a family birthday 🥳 at Shogun tonight! Lots of entertainment & showmanship during our dinner! Fun room with our table. Plenty of social distance room. Large menu. Hibachi & Sushi 🍣 available. Spring rolls were good. Our table tried sushi 🍱 & hibachi— shrimp 🍤, chicken 🐔, fillet 🥩 with lots of vegetables! Everything was delicious. Plus there were small dishes of ice cream 🍨 for dessert with our meals. Located in Cool Springs area. Very convenient. Be sure to try Shogun soon.
