After a visit to Warley Place, we called in on the off-chance for lunch. We were greeted immediately by the friendly bar staff and seated. I chose minted lamb with tender stem broccoli and new potatoes from the specials menu. My friend chose Lasagne. The lamb was perfectly cooked and delicious, as was the Lasagne, according to my friend. We had no room for pudding.
We will definitely be back!
Never disappoints👌 we always feel so welcome - service excellent food excellent ambience tip top. Took our fam here for lunch today+ taking them again next week🤗
Lovely pub with friendly staff and a good variety of food. It is exactly that kind of pub that every neighbourhood should have where you can take your children and the whole family for a meal and a couple of pints.
They have outdoor tables as well and a parking area too.
Went here for food and football on a Wednesday evening whilst staying down the road at the De Rougemont Hotel.
Great service, tasty well priced food and 3 real ales on tap (Black Sheep V good).
For sports fans just a warning that there is only 1 TV in the bar area, so if its busy you might be pushed to get a decent view.
All in all enjoyed my visit.
Nice pub located close to Warley Place. I imagine it would be nice to drink here on a warm day, the only downside is that when sitting outside, there’s a lot of the “new generation” of Essex with there completely unnecessary 4x4’s that pull up outside for a chat, not customers, just prat’s, because it’s all the bravado that goes with these types.
What I’m sure is a great pub is sadly messed up by these idiots, at one point during our visit, one of the cars did a lot of static revving, before heading off at speed.
The pub is very old world. With a nice vibe inside from the staff.
Only popped in for a drink and to feed the child.
Honestly the quality of the children's dinner has definitely made this a place I'm coming back too.
It's a propa old pub with some characters in there.
Staff were so friendly (a special thanks to the lady that booked my daughter under 'princess')
Really warm welcoming and friendly pub plus the food was excellent.
Everyone there was having a good time.
Thank you for this one off visit as I'll definitely be back with the family.
Absolutely love this place.
Specials on the board give other options to an already fantastic menu.
Drinks are well priced and a good selection.
5*
A lovely friendly pub but I also definitely recommend the food here. I had the homemade steak and ale pie and I wasn't disappointed. Gosh the pie was packed near full with the best , perfectly cooked meat I can tell you. And I did round off the evening with sticky toffee pudding. What's more to love?
My husband and I popped in last night on the off chance for a bite to eat we was greeted by a lovely girl called Ellie she showed us to a table and made us feel very welcome she was very attentive and we never needed to ask for a drink as soon as she saw our glasses empty she was straight over and always smiling.
We will definitely be coming back.
An absolutely lovely country pub with a decent selection of beers and the best steak pie I've had anywhere. I'm not sure when the building dates from but the low ceilings and oak beams look like they've been there a while. The staff are brilliant too, in fact the only slight snag is that the place can get very busy and you can sometimes wait a while for food, not a problem for me because, in my opinion at least, the food is worth waiting for.
All in all one of my very favourite pubs and well worth a visit.
