This is one of the best courses we have played. Everything about is fantastic, the tees, the fairways, the bunkers (there are a lot of these!) And the greens. The greens team should be congratulated and the way they present the course. A massive thank you to Sam Ryan who put our golf package together, he is fantastic. All the staff we met were brilliant, welcoming and polite.
We will return to play another day!
Played just 1 round as a guest and was mightily impressed with the course and venue. A strategic thinkers course with some challenging holes yet excellent greens and t boxes. Thoroughly enjoyable and certainly plan more visits over the coming months...
Lovely set up, course excellent scenery beautiful, staff very helpful and friendly.
We dined in the restaurant on Saturday evening and overall the food and service was excellent. Both the bar and restaurant staff were very friendly and attentive all evening. We enjoyed pre-meal drinks on the terrace with wonderful views over the golf course. The prawn starters were really tasty and tender. My hake was also beautifully cooked, but my wife's sirloin steak was extremely chewy and difficult to cut. This was mentioned to our waiter who apologised and later mentioned he had told the chef. When this has happened in the past at other restaurants then we have either been given the steak for nothing or at least half price but we were charged the full price. That is the only reason for a 4 star review instead of 5 stars. We will probably visit again as it is such a stunning location, but avoid the steak in future.
Cameron was very helpful when I enquired about hosting 3 friends at The Astbury in support of Prostate Cancer’s Big Golf Race. Played 36 holes and thoroughly enjoyed it. Many thanks.
Great course and facilities. Course is well maintained (although the longer rough could do with a sweep of the excess grass) and the service in the Pro Shop was excellent as was the service in the bar
Played here with our Golf Society recently. Tough and long course but in great condition. Staff were welcoming and friendly. Drinks pricey but expected.
Great golf course greens are superb staff very professional in bar and pro shop can only rate this course as excellent 5*****

This course is good value at £25 each afternoon in the week. The staff were frendly and it has a nice clubhouse with great views from the balcony and a half way house if you're feeling hungry or thirsty. The course itself is still relatively new and open which is exaggerated by the lack of mature trees and other definition but the greens were very good for the time of year so during the summer they should be excellent. When we played many of the Tee marker posts for the holes were missing so it sometimes took a little time to find the next tee and check which way you were going as some of the tee shots on the front 9 were blind, which made the course more interesting to play. Obviously this wouldn't be a problem for the members or regular visitors but not for people who hadn't played the course before. As the course is on quite a heavy soil getting mud on your ball was almost guaranteed so it was a bit disappointing that there were no ball washers on the course at all. Overal though it's worth a visit, especially given the price.
