Been having our fish and chips at the trawl whenever we go to brid no for about 10 years and the standards never slip, brilliant service with fantastic food, great value for money and they also provide a takeaway option for your food, I definitely recommend going to the trawl if you are in brid because it's a real hidden gem, the only thing I could say is that there arent really a lot of tables so if it's at lunch time you make struggle to be seated but other than that, great fish and chip restraunt.

Spending a few days on the Yorkshire coast and from the reviews the Trawl sounded like the real deal. It was, excellent fish with a nice light batter and very tasty chips. Really friendly people, decor was traditional, warm and clean. Proper fish and chip shop, no burgers or kebabs, just as it should be Thank you

I don't eat fish and chips often. But I make an exception when I visit Brid. I always get a portion of triple cooked chips from the Trawl. Both myself and my wife both agree they are simply the best chips we've ever eaten and the older gentleman serving is always very friendly. I can only hope he doesn't retire anytime soon.

We went on a day visit to Brid last Thursday 27th June. Unsure of where to find a good lunch, we asked 2 ladies who worked in one of the shops. They both recommended this place. e went on a walk around first and then returned to The Trawl. The time was about 1.30pm and on entering there was only 1 other table occupied, which is sometimes not a good sign. However the waitress came over immediately and took our drinks order, returning shortly afterwards for our menu choices. We both chose haddock, chips and peas. These arrived quickly and were very good. The batter on the fish was exactly right and the chips were cooked to perfection. My partner had just one small complaint in that the peas arrived on top of the chips which he said made the chips a bit soggy. I did not mind this at all. The meal was reasonably priced and the service could not have been better. As we were leaving I noticed a board on the wall which held old postcards and we spent about 10 mins reading these and having a chuckle.

Stumbled across this hidden gem whilst visiting the area in Mid May. A proper Fish n Chip shop serving proper fish n chips. The restaurant is accessed from the main take-away counter. Simply laid out, very clean and welcoming in an old fashion way. The menu was the usual assortment of Fish, Pies, Sausages etc. But the stand out deal is Fish n Chips, Bread and butter and a drink. We chose the Cod deal, and when it arrived it was a nice portion, cooked fresh, and baking hot. Perfectly complementing the roll and butter and nice strong tea. Our server was quick and happy. So what more do you want at a bargain price - Good fresh Food. Good Service and homely atmosphere. One not to miss.

We visited the restaurant side of this fish and chip shop and wasn't disappointed. We had the trawl special, fish and chips, breadcake and a cup of tea. The place was busy and there were plates on the table but a waitress came as soon as we sat down and cleared the table, giving it a good clean and was very pleasant. the food only took about 10 minutes to arrive and was extremely hot! The fish had a light crispy batter and the chips were crispy and fluffy inside. Very good value.

I did my research before a day trip to Brid which was to include a fish and chip lunch and this restaurant was my choice. From the outside the place looked attractive and welcoming and inside it was quite basic and just what you want for a chippy. When we entered we asked a couple what it was like and they said they were regular customers and thought it was excellent. We ordered what was a set meal of fish and chips with bread and butter and a cup of tea, all for £6.20 each. It was just before midday and the table were gradually filling up with regulars. The food was served very quickly and was hot and fresh. The batter was excellent and the fish, haddock, was succulent. Chip were hot and a good size. It was a good plate of fish and chips for a lunch but if I was to eat there for a dinner in the evening I would order a larger piece of fish. I would recommend this restaurant without reservation.

We went here for a traditional Fish and Chip lunch and we got exactly that. Lovely Cod, authentic chips with a cup of tea and bread and butter. All for £6 per head. The portions are just right, not too large that you must leave some and not too small you feel there isn’t enough. The staff are friendly and very talkative. The decor in the café part is just like a 70s chips shop was. Which I like very much. I have been here a few times now and the food is always excellent. What more can you want from a Yorkshire Chippy? There are pies and different fish available. Everything is traditional so don’t expect more modern dishes. But that isn’t the point. If you want a traditional fish and chip meal, you won’t go far wrong with The Trawl.
