Had a lovely meal here after taking a the dog for a walk round the nature reserve. Staff were very friendly and welcoming and show us where we could sit with the dog, food was very reasonably price and the quality was fantastic real home cooked food! There were some good vegetarian options which my wife enjoyed and I really enjoyed the butternut squash and rosemary soup you could really taste the rosemary in it.

I first visited about 6 weeks ago at lunchtime but returned last Friday evening with friends making g up a party of 4. Its an interesting place and proved both friendly and inviting. We didn't visit at peak dining time but the service was friendly and all the food arrived together. The waiter was friendly and attentive but not obsequious. The food was hot tasty and did not disappoint. One of our party had the veggie option but was happy with her meal. I had chosen veggie on my first visit and had enjoyed it although not veggie routinely.

Great menu ,got a table straight away ,can pre book if desired, reasonably priced, it's a cosy venue, seafood platter for 2 has to be tried ,and do check out the specials as they change regularly, leave room for dessert as they have a great selection, service was great ,only a 10 min wait for the food that was hot ,highly recommended if your in the area .

Lovely little pub near Brightlingsea Quay. The menu could do with a few more fish, vegetarian, and vegan offerings, but otherwise great. Top marks for serving Old Speckled Hen 0.5%, makes being designated driver much better.

Nice food with interesting, changing specials. Can't ask for nicer staff and quality quick service. Perfect for a pint or a meal.

Great food. Service was very slow as we did not book in advance. However the food was excellent and well worth the wait.

Lovely food and very efficient staff. I had the seafood platter and my husband had the steak and kidney pudding, both were very tasty and well presented. A lovely pub close to the harbour. Well worth a visit.

We dined there twice last week. The Pub is clean and welcoming. The food was excellent with good portions. Natalie the Land Lady was very friendly but business like and smartly dressed. A absolute gem of a venue.
