This beautiful and intimate little restaurant is a hidden gem here in Brighton. I've tried to book a table a few times before but had no success. I decided to send a last-minute email on Thursday night to see if we had a chance and I got an immediate response from the owner stating that they were fully booked. But within a few hours, I got a call and then a text from the owner, notifying me that a cancellation had opened up a table! Now that's great customer service! The restaurant is beautifully decorated and you can't help but feel like you're in a cozy dining room in Italy. The owner was a fantastic waiter, help us make an informed decision on what we ordered. We definitely were not disappointed with our lasagne and stuffed peppers dishes. Starters also had generous portions which left me quite full but satisfied! My husband had the tiramisu which was delightful. And may I add.. the wine was delectable! If you really want authentic Italian food with amazing service and atmosphere, I cannot recommend this place enough - and I've only been here once!

Really really tastey this place... I went in not knowing if I wanted a drink or a snack or a full blown lunch, and the friendly gentlemen stepped in with a smile and an earnest tone of passion to guide me through the options open to me. For just £1.80 I picked up a freshly made that day ball of fluffy rice cooked in breadcrumbs with a mozzarella and spinach centre that was about the size of both my fists together (without thumbs). Bringing it over to me, he offered a knife and fork, but said he personally like to "snatch it up in a napkin", With my cutlery poised, I suddenly deviated and went down the napkin route, which proved an incredibly satisfying, clean and spillage free way of munching through my meal... Random details aside, there was a host of food on offer here, which I fully intend to explore further down the line, with iconic Mediterranean dishes like lasagne sitting alongside equally intriguing unknown delights. Its a little small inside, so I was pleased to get a seat out of the cold. But for something to bring home with you, or for a sit down and nibble outside, this place is unparalleled.

I pass this tiny Sicilian deli everyday and after much admiring, I finally decided to try it out. With the likes of 'Poppy's' and 'Pause' nearby, Mediterrane faces tough competition in what is a small area. Having tasted the food though, this is perhaps the best of the local lunchtime eateries. The menu is based on traditional Sicilian dishes, and delivers superbly on the famous Italian brand. You'll also find that it's a lot cheaper than other deli's, certainly those further in to town. My baguette came in at £2.90, very reasonable. Space is a bit limited, but there is seating inside and out (weather permitting). Perhaps the strongest reason for going here would be the delightfully friendly owner, I can't explain just how sweet he was.

One of the few places in Brighton that make fresh Sicilian Food such as arancini and the delicious cannoli al ricotta! Really friendly young Sicilian family owners.

This Mediterranean deli has recently opened in the London Road neighbourhood and what a gem it is! The food is distinctly Italian in flavour- choose from a scrummy selection of sandwiches and focaccias filled with your choice of pesto, mozzarella, parma ham, artichokes and more. They also do delicious lasagne (meat and veggie), which is often part of a lunchtime special and I can't wait to try their calzone! Make sure to sample the delicious 'Arancini'...little balls of rice and meat or mushrooms- not to be missed at a mere £1.80! The staff are really friendly and they have a lovely little outdoor seating area...so get yourself down to Mediterrane before it's too cold for al fresco dining!

I recently had the pleasure of visiting a charming little cafe tucked away in Hove, and it was a delightful experience. From the moment I stepped inside, I was captivated by the cafe's cozy and inviting atmosphere. The decor was a perfect blend of rustic and eclectic, with warm wood accents, soft lighting, and a profusion of potted plants that added a touch of nature to the space. The menu was small but offered a selection of artisanal cakes and pastries as well sandwiches and hot breakfast options. The coffee had a rich, robust flavor, and the croissant was flaky and buttery, just as it should be. What truly set this cafe apart, though, was the attentive and friendly owners. They were genuinely passionate about creating a memorable experience for their customers. This is the perfect place to unwind, read a book, or catch up with a friend. Overall, this beautiful little cafe exceeded my expectations in every way. It's a hidden gem that provides a serene escape from the city's hustle and bustle. If you're looking for a haven of good coffee, delicious treats, and a tranquil atmosphere, I highly recommend paying a visit to this charming establishment.

Popped in and tried the gluten free chocolate hazelnut cake. Usually, I don’t like gluten free desserts but this was really nice and chocolatey. The staff are really nice, interior is lovely and the paintings are nice to look at. Would definitely recommend and looking forward to go and try other things!

Three of us went in for a coffee and cake , were warmly welcomed by the family, who if turned out were from Sicily (Milazzo), excellent food and coffee, but above all a warm, welcoming atmosphere from Georgio, Sonia and Francesco. Good looking lunch eats, very Italian...Highly Recommended by Kirsten, Francesca and Brian...
