A hidden gem in deepest, darkest Portslade! Jump on the number 1 or 1A bus and get over here, it's absolutely worth the trip - great cafe, cool retro store (cool stuff for non-Brighton-hiked prices) , garden wares, plants, furniture warehouse and now even the Wood Recycling Project have a shop on site! All in beautiful grounds...What's not to love!!??

The biggest charity shop I've ever been in. Wonderful place, full of bargains. The best part, for me, was the 'Wood Recycling Project'. The waste of wood is appalling. These guys turn it into something really useful. The work and purpose of this terrific place is highly commendable. Popular cafe. Sunny outside seating. Easy access.

A visit to Emmaus is our little Saturday morning treat! Nothing starts the day off better than an Emmaus breakfast at the Cafe -we're addicted to the cheesy chips and the sausage sandwiches - followed by a walk around the Emporium - bargains galore! - we never leave there empty handed- and some of the nicest staff you'll ever meet- and so grateful for donations - we love, love, love it!!!

Large second hand (‘charity’) shop with lots of good and less good items. From plates to bed frames and from LP’s to milk cans. Not the cheapest, but there’s certainly a big selection.

The kind of place you want to linger in. From the first person who greets you, to the hellos you get and directions from bed section to superstore, this is clearly a special place. Such warm and friendly people, a huge selection of tempting items and particularly, potted plants and mid century furniture to spare. To then find that the Emmaus movement has grown globally from belle Paris is no surprise. What a great concept and good on all the people living and working there. The best customer service I've had in ages and a genuinely great place to be.

A lovely place for lunch or afternoon tea whilst supporting a worth while homeless charity. Check out the ancient ruins and grotto
