Pretty good food, really enjoyed the fish and chips. However, the pie of the day wasn't that amazing. The salad was delicious. The fried chicken meat pieces were really crispy--definitely recommend. Service was really friendly as well.

Fish and Chips beside the sea. If you find yourself on Brighton seafront and get peckish you can do worse than head over to Harry Ramsden's for some fish and chips and mushy peas.
Yes, you could buy cheaper and greasier fish and chips on the promenade but then you'd have to spend you entire meal fending off dive-bombing seagulls intent on stealing your lunch.
So, head to Harry Ramsden's; the food is good, the service is good and no one will try and steal you chips.
(Beware the lunch time rush - unless you like to que.)
So the servers here really don't know how to speak English... explaining how a drink came with a shot of gin was incredibly difficult. The waitress couldn't really understand.
A friend told me to come here for the fish and chips! Of course, I had it and it was pretty good! The chips were a little bland but the it was decent. Ordering was such a pain though. The waitress was horribly confused at moments.
Though, I discovered after leaving that she forgot to charge me for one of my drinks... so thank you Harry Ramsden!
Decent fish and chips!
This is the go to place for fish and chips if you visit Brighton. The choice of haddock or cod. I choose cod it was silky and soft with a wonderful brown light batter. Regular portion is one large piece of fish. Large portion you get two pieces. The chips are large stick cut crispy and gold brown. Choice of take away or dine in.
I love Harry ramsdens definitely the best fish and chips in Brighton it's definitely better to sit in and have your meal I had takeaway fish and chips before and it wasn't great. It just seems so much better when you're sitting inside eating it I had place and chips it was cooked to perfection the batter was lovely and crispy the fish was lovely and light and full of flavour and fresh the chips were nice too and a nice cup of latte . Nice friendly helpful staff too a brilliant meal 10/10
While looking for a place to get fish and chips near the Brighton Pier, I came upon this restaurant. From the branding and signage of the restaurant, I had a feeling that I'd enjoy my meal at Harry Ramsden's because it's "World Famous." And when you see "world famous," it usually means that it is a tourist favorite. Well, I hate to pin myself as a tourist, but I was. And I liked my meal.
I ordered the standard order of fish and chips, complete with a dish of mushy peas. The breading on the fish was perfect, the fish tasted fresh (not too fishy). The chips were more like standard American french fries than the fried chipped potatoes that I've had at other places. I ordered a Diet Coke to drink, and a small bottle was served with a glass of ice (few restaurants keep soft drinks on tap).
Service was speedy and friendly. When I had to pay, they didn't fuss with me needing to split my bill and swipe an American credit card. Because Harry Ramsden's is a chain, I'd consider eating there again if I saw one in my area.
Simple yet enjoyable place. Good for informal dinners with friends. Don't expect fancy dishes. The place and the food is a bit basic in quality and presentation. But prices and quantity are OK for a seated restaurant.
If you're just interested in trying fish and chips perhaps any of the dozens fast-food shops in Brighton would make the same job.
This was a welcome break and treat. We popped in for lunch on a whim, as we were looking for somewhere to eat that was fairly close by.
They were very welcome, the cod was tasty if not quite jumbo....but was extremely enjoyable just the same. A little bit more than a normal chippy, but the quality was also better and warranted the extra cost.
Good fish and chips. We have to wait as today Brighton was really busy and tables were not available. Had the typical cod and chips; size was enough, good flavour and proper chips.
There are senior discounts on too.
Food was quickly served after ordering on-line (not taking orders at the table).
I had this dish for the first time in my life. The fish was tasty and well prepared. We were sitting by the window. The restaurant has a good view of the surroundings as it is on a street corner.
After seagulls tried to steal my chips yesterday and the sun was quite fierce today, I decided to have my chips indoors and was pleased to spot a Harry Ramsden's. I ordered chips, bread and butter and a pot of tea. The people serving were lovely and I got a good portion of tasty chips. But I'm taking a star off because bread and butter cost £1.09. For this 1 got one slice of white bread cut into 2 triangles. Bizarrely, this came with 3 portions of butter, even though I could have managed quite easily with half a portion, given the size of the slice. Considering the mark up on a white sliced loaf, this was disappointing and didn't make for an effective chip butty.
Alex and Karina were very kind and professional. Food was amazing and tasted really good. We ate cod and chips with mushy peas, tartar sauce, bread & butter followed by one scoop each of all 3 ice cream flavors. All flavors are good but strawberry is the best .
The fish and chips are an unparalleled delicacy, perfectly capturing the essence of seaside dining. Coupled with the consistently courteous and professional counter staff, it's no wonder this spot stands out as a premier dining experience in the area.
I ordered the small sized haddock but it was huuuge for me! (but i liked it) The hot chocolate was great too, and the waitress Katina Adiba Alex was so warm towards me ❤️
We were visiting Brighton on the weekend and since it was crowded on the pier plus cute seagulls trying to snatch our food 🤣 we decided to go to a restaurant and so we tried Harry’s ! It was a really good experience! Loved the fish and chips there.. also enjoyed the cocktails and our favourite were the *prawns coated with breadcrumbs*. Also the onion rings were lovely ! We were served by Karina who was oh so lovely and polite. Had a lovely experience overall :)
Very friendly and helpful staff. Courteous and efficient. The restaurant was immaculately clean. Pleasant temperature. Lovely ambiance. The food was delicious. Fish and chips very fresh and tasty. Decent portion size for the price. Will definitely return when next in Brighton!
Wanted fish and chips while visiting Brighton, and this was recommended by most of my friends. First time I couldn't get a table, so second day we went after lunch hours, and we got the basic stuff, plus some bread and butter -which came straight from the fridge. Service is ok, and food was the same fish you'd get at your local chippie, other than the cold bread it was all ok. We sat outside during a sunny afternoon, and had a pleasant meal. Mostly a tourist spot.
I recently had the opportunity to dine at Harry Ramsden's Fish and Chips restaurant, and while the wait for our food was longer than expected, the quality of the fish made it all worthwhile. The restaurant itself had a pleasant and cozy atmosphere, which added to the anticipation of the meal.
Although we did have to wait a considerable amount of time for our food to arrive, the moment we took the first bite of the fish, all frustrations were forgotten. The fish was undeniably fresh and cooked to perfection. The crispy batter encasing the flaky white fish was light and golden, providing a delightful contrast of textures. The flavor was outstanding, with a hint of saltiness that complemented the natural taste of the fish.
The accompanying chips were also noteworthy. They were cooked to a delightful crispiness on the outside while remaining fluffy on the inside. The portion size was generous, allowing us to enjoy the chips alongside the delicious fish.
Despite the longer wait time, the quality of the fish and chips at Harry Ramsden's made it a worthwhile dining experience. The restaurant showcased their expertise in preparing a classic British dish, and the result was a delicious and satisfying meal. I would recommend Harry Ramsden's to any fish and chips enthusiasts looking for a memorable culinary experience.
Enjoyable Monday dinner 🍽
‘You Can’t Leave England Without Eating Fish & Chips’🐟🍟😂 It is an icon! I highly recommend this restaurant (good food, staffs, environment, price) They are the most important aspects of how I rate a restaurant:) The golden battered cod is fresh and crispy; thick chips with fresh potatoes 🥔 Definitely will come back for the onion rings as well, they’re just perfect🥰 Staffs are so friendly and helpful. Reasonable price and generous portions
Great service with amazing atmosphere!
Hope the weather was better but overall excellent!
The staff were very attentive and the service was very good.

I loved the food and the service. Especially, Adiba, Ollie, and Karina were wonderful in providing service.
