Had an amazing Sunday roast here with friends. Our waitress Fiona was exceptional, attentive and professional and made us feel so welcome.. And nothing was too much to ask of her.. We left with full bellies and good memories. Will definitely be back very soon.. Lovely homely place. Great food, fair selection of drinks and amazing puddings.. Apple & Rhubarb crumble was perfect..

I visited this lovely pub on Sunday with my partner and as soon as I walked in, I felt like I was at home; such a warm, friendly and cosy environment! The decor is beautiful and tastefully done and it really compliments the venue. I loved the little seating area with the chesterfield sofas! 😍 The garden was equally amazing! The bar staff and waiting staff were all very friendly. We ordered a Sunday roast and we were blown away! It was delicious and I remember saying to my partner that it was definitely one of the best roasts I’ve ever had! The yorkie’s are huge! 😁😋 We had the opportunity to bump into the chef, Alex as he walked through the dining area and I took the opportunity to thank him for such an amazing meal! Alex, just like all the staff, was extremely friendly. We will definitely return here time and time again, as a couple and with our family. Thank you Crown & Anchor for such an amazing experience…keep up the good work ☺️

I recently visited with my partner for a Sunday roast. We were blown away by the stunning interior & cosy outdoor area. The bar staff and waitress service was fantastic and the food was out of this world, one of the best roasts we’ve had! Everything was cooked to perfection, and presented so nicely. I also highly recommend the sticky toffee pudding and chocolate brownie - we left feeling full and content. The atmosphere was welcoming and music vibe great too. Will definitely be visiting again!

Lovely pub! First time there and will defo go there again. Great, attentive and friendly service from Kirkby. Really nice newly refurbished dining area. Noticed they have a lovely new beer garden at back. The lamb Sunday roast was excellent! The roast carrot, sweede mash, succulent lamb, and delicious yorkies are a must. Will be returning with friends soon 😉

Is a lovely pub with a nice garden and friendly helpful staff. There were loads of kids there (40th bday) and plenty of space for them to run around. It was perfect for our 40th gathering. Amazing walls of flowers too. Gave me lots of ideas...

Booked a table here for Sunday lunch for 5 of us as it was Pride weekend and the pub is near to the park. Have to say the hosts made us incredibly welcome and the roast dinners were fab! Top marks for the amazing customer service and food! Would definitely visit again! Thanks!

Nice pub. Very friendly staff. Ok beer choice. Quite a bit of seating inside. A few chairs and tables out back. The food was very good. Simple but tasty. Bit of an older crowd but nice and relaxed. Good for a quite drink. Would definitely go back for another drink and maybe even food!

Walked in, totally unplanned, as our chosen Alcoholic Beverage Dispensing Establishment was having a Quiz Night (O the horror😱) Very pleasantly surprised which, if you know me, is not my usual disposition. A large, comfortable bar with well-spaced tables, we were immediately greeted by a well-dressed barmaid (yes, I know that's not pc; bite me), offered a fine selection of imbibing, plus a delicious bill of fare. The rations arrived in a timely manner, generous portions helped our calorie deficit not one whit, thank The Powers! Our tapster continued to attend upon our every whim in a most satisfactory manner. Other points of note, the comfort station was clean and appropriately stocked with an adequate amount of butt napkins. Cash and card, also tab available. I will most certainly revisit this fine hostelry, should I ever be persuaded to partake of the distilled offering again, as you all know how I hate to drink...

Really friendly staff and a lovely big pub with beer garden just on the main road. I didn't get to try the food but definitely will next time.
