Welcoming and friendly staff. I asked questions about the blends on the menu and the staff member was very keen to explain the options. The coffee itself was great! We ordered egg and bacon butty which was served with quality ingredients and tasted fantastic. The atmosphere was chilled and relaxing and the place looks great. I don't feel we waited longer than you would expect to be served. The menu was a little on the pricey side but taking into account the friendly staff, quality of the food/coffee and atmosphere I would say it was worth the cost. Definitely worth a visit every now and then if you feel like treating yourself! Redroaster your staff were great this morning please pass on our kind thanks for an enjoyable visit.
Staff were very attentive, vibe was great and the location wow so much nicer than the old tired red roaster cafe... it's now a full restaurant... great job loved it and will recommend and return x
i drink the tea in there, staff are very friendly and make me feel welcome. its very relaxing in there as well and the music is great too
The food was great and really good value for money. The staff were friendly and service prompt. What entirely blew me away though was the décor and the cleverly designed ambience, so light and spacious. The use of heavier materials, such as the marble of the generous central bar, surprisingly brought additional, reflective light to the restaurant and the industrial solid strength of the metal staircase acted as a frame to this airy space. Even the elegance of the bathroom was breathtaking. We will most definitely visit again.
Just had the most amazing breakfast at Red Roaster. The staff and venue are both 5 stars. I know it is quite a change from the old cafe, and therefore won't be everyone's cup of tea. But I urge everyone to give it a try for yourselves. I'm sure you won't regret it!
I thought this place was very unique to brighton! Nice light space with delicious food and coffee.. needs a little atmosphere & more smiles from the staff - but this will come with time. Great haven & will most certainly be a regular of mine. See you soooooon 🙂

I was a bit put off at first as I couldn't bring my miniature dachshund teddybrightonuk anymore. But, the coffee finally has the space it deserves.
I promised myself that I'd find alternative coffee shops to write my blog each morning but the coffee, staff and atmosphere here keeps bringing me back -every morning!

What a lovely brunch spot on St James St. Bella was our server and gave the recommendation for the Iced Turbo (coffee with Chocolate milk) and the Eggs Benedict. Hands down the best breakfast I’ve ever had. The pulled pork was sweet and salty and was amazing. Instead of an English muffin, it gets served on top of fondant potatoes and it was sensational! Bella looked after us the whole way through our meal and made the experience so charming. Thank you!!
Very nice place, you'd never know it was there! Lovely and bright, but also clean and has a nice calm atmosphere. I only came in here to kill time before an interview, but ended up having 3 cups of tea for £2.40! Will absolutely be coming back and bringing my partner.

Redroaster Cafe on St. James's Street is a great spot for dates, families, friends etc. The cafe is in a beautiful building, and the interior is minimal and refreshing. The staff are friendly and attentive, and the food is delicious.
We have been to Lucky Khao, the evening restaurant in the same restaurant, plenty of times. We’re regulars there now. We finally visited Redroaster. We ordered the fig & burrata bruschetta, chilli crab linguine, steak frites, and eggs benedict. The fig & burrata bruschetta was a great starter, with the fresh figs and burrata perfectly complemented by the hot honey and vinaigrette. The chilli crab linguine was our favorite dish of the day. The crab was fresh and plentiful, and the sauce was well-seasoned with a nice kick of heat, but could’ve been spicier. The linguine was cooked al dente and perfectly coated in the sauce. The steak frites was also very good, with the steak cooked to perfection and the frites crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The eggs benedict was a modern take on a classic dish that was well-executed, with the hollandaise sauce being especially creamy and delicious. The poached eggs were cooked perfectly. The potato rosti was a nice addition, and it added a bit of texture to the dish. The artichoke chips were a nice touch, and they added a bit of crunch. Very different from any eggs Benedict I’ve had before.
Overall, we had a great experience at Redroaster Cafe. The food was delicious, the service was excellent, and the atmosphere was inviting. We would definitely recommend Redroaster to anyone looking for a great meal in Brighton. I’ve never once been disappointed.
Fantastic place for brunch - a wonderful range of dishes slightly more sophisticated than your typical brunch fare. Would like to give a special shout out to our server Abby who was an absolute star during our recent bottomless brunch! Wonderfully friendly, attentive and made sure our glasses didn’t go empty… she made our experience especially wonderful!
Best avocado toast I’ve ever had! I added poached eggs to mine and they were perfectly cooked.
So much flavour and the bread was delicious.
I also had cheesy hashbrowns and a caramel apple chai latte.
My partner half had the chicken schnitzel.
I highly recommend the Redroaster: it's cosy, food is amazing, and the people working there are all friendly and helpful. I had Hake Roasti, and it was very tasty and beautifully presented. Filling too. Great experience altogether.

Delightful interior we chose to sat in the garden which was completely covered. Staff were friendly and the food was fantastic. Loved the spin on eggs Benedict with potato base and parsnips crisps. Highlight was paying via QR code so we didn't have to wait around.
Redroaster has been reliably good and didn’t disappoint on this visit. A quiet pre-Christmas day so easy to get a table. Staff are friendly and relaxed. The roast cod on rosti was very good (possibly a little one note - a contrast flavor/texture would have added something). The poached eggs on sourdough were appreciated. My oat flat white was excellent. The ambience is still strong. We will be going back!

Servers out lovely and very attentive. It's pretty chill in here. The food is amazing. I had the Full Roaster brunch, the potato rosti was the nicest thing I've eaten in a while. I usually add a bit of salt to my food but I didn't need to, it wasn't salty, it was just so flavourful I absolutely didn't need to. Seriously good stuff. No photos because I was too busy eating it! Coffee is good too!
Had a wonderful time. Excellent venue for a bunch of weary teachers to enjoy great food, superb cocktails, wine and beer! I have a nut allergy and the chef went out of his way to look after me, despite being extremely busy. Would highly recommend. Thanks guys x

a unique independent Brighton venue. The food is top notch, prepared in an open kitchen along with possibly the best coffee in town (and there’s a lot of competition). Great variety of delicious cakes. The staff are also friendly and professional.
Nice place. Food was good but I thought a little expensive for what it is. The avocado on toast was nice but you do just get two chunky strips of toast- one with avocado and the other tomatoes. The fry up was good (but no beans) and so was the Christmas burger. The waitress was really nice but got a few things wrong, but that was fine! The drinks here are really nice!
I can not recommend highly enough. THE most delicious breakfasts ever, awesome coffee, friendly staff. All the food that leaves the kitchen looks amazing, I'd like to sit here until I was hungry and have it again! The figs and burrata are incredible. Have eaten here several times over several years and always delicious.
What an amazing experience. Our server was kind, generous and gave us lots of time to look at the menu. The coffee was fantastic as well!
Highly recommend the Full Roaster. Others are okay but not as exceptional. The environment of the shop is fantastic. Hot coffees are amazing but ice coffees need a big improvement. Services are quick and staff are friendly.

Significantly improved their ice coffees. Excellent service as usual. Full Roaster not as good as last time though, still, Redroaster Cafe remains to be an amazing place to have breakfast.
Such an amazing venue, myself and my cousin came here for brunch. I had poached eggs on toast with added mushroom. My cousin had avocado on toast. Both dishes tasted phenomenal!! We also enjoyed some refreshing sodas. Mine was watermelon and lime soda and my cousin ordered an elderflower soda. Again we could not fault the flavours. Our waitress couldn't do any more for us and even had time for a little chat.
