We visited for the great vegan options, and weren’t disappointed. The tofish is the best we’d ever tried! We had mixed views on the banana blossom; it’s good but particularly oily and salty. The chips are only ok, two large portions and the chips were all pretty small. Impressive range of condiments including vegan. Service was friendly enough but quite slow, we’ll set up for distancing.

Nice little chippie selling lots of tasty vegan options including all vegan sauces. Good to know all the vegan fried food is fried in a separate fryer to other non vegan products. Reasonably priced and massive portions. My fave is the battered vegan sausage and chip buttie. Friendly staff. On Deliveroo too.
Chips tasted good and weren't greasy. Batter lovely and light. Didn't like the Yorkshire fishcake - indeterminate fish sandwiched between two whole slices ofspud in nice batter. Cod was quite small and chips had black bits and scraps.
There were three staff, I was the only customer (except for a couple of collections) but it took 15 mins before they started cooking mine. They need to sort out their system, have the basics cooked and ready. They need to be able to cook more than one order at a time.
Quite pricey, but the menu does look very good.

This recently refurbished fish and chip shop is really good. I'm sitting here with a big smile on my face. The cod was soft and juicy, the chips perfectly done with some soft and fluffy and some lovely and crispy. Very generous portions. Kids portion was big enough for an adult, adult's portion was nearly big enough for two. Staff were friendly and professional. Good prices too. The specials sounded nice too. Sold for take away in boxes, as is the trend.
They have tofu versions of fish cutlets too. If you still have the capacity of empathy in times like this. I mainly chose to get a take away because I have become rather dejected of late; I tire of cooking a wholesome and nutritious meal every day, the washing up sometimes seems like too great a task, that sort of thing. But I am perked right up after this delicious meal.
I read once that potatoes offer almost if not fully complete nutrition. Hard not to buy into that notion when the chips are this good. Only sorry I had to stop to save some for my partner.
I love this place for fish lovers and vegans alike. The Tofish is a great idea. A suggestion though: as tofu is a bland flavour could it be marinaded beforehand to make it even more special? The homemade tartar sauce and smoky battered vegan sausage are sublime!
Fresh food, very tasty, big portion. Chips is amazing. Portion fish and chips comes in a box (not like on the most places just with paper which gets oily) and they place it in a bag for more convenient. Stuff are very nice, young people. Very good quality of the food.
The Little Fish & Chip Shop is under new owners and has been totally refurbished. I tried both the cod and salt and pepper squid, with a portion of chips. The food is seasoned very well and tastes significantly cleaner and tastier than your typical chippie. Vegan options with tofu too. The service was dissapointingly slow, but the food was made to order freshly fried. I suspect this is only because the shop opened in the last couple of days and did not expect the overwhelming number of customers. Good luck to the new owners!
Heard some good reviews of the new ownership of this place and that they provide vegan options so we thought we'd give it a try. Our child thoroughly enjoyed the fish bites and my f'illet o fish' was delicious. My husband (the vegan) opted for a tofu red curry burger and gave it full marks. The portion sizes are generous so next time we'll share chips. Please ignore the negative reviews below as they refer to the previous ownership. Finally, they take cards unlike our other Hollingdean chippy.
We'll definitely go again.

Fabulous food, asked for cod and chips and got whale and chips. Curry sauce was the best I've ever had.
Game changer. We are a little late to the party but heard of the vegan menu so popped over on a Friday and joined the queue. Guess we weren't the only ones to hear about the magic! Faced with an array of choices we got pretty much everything on the vegan menu. Tofish, Banana Blossom 'fish', large chips, tartare sauce (yes vegan), mushy peas and curry sauce. They have changing weekly specials and a battered non sausage too. All delicious. I would recommend a different day to Friday just so you dont have to queue for too long but it is totally worth the wait.
Best fish and chips in Brighton. Can't believe it's near my house. Amazing specials every week. Crabby chips and southern fried skate are two of my favourites. Massive portions. Friendly folk. Really reasonable. Can't beat it.

Just had fish, chips and mushy peas. Faultless. Was slightly cynical cos the chips are skinnier than what I would deem 'normal' chippy chips but they were soooo tasty. The batter was light and I dunno what they do to their mushies but it's something very very good. This place is head and shoulders above everywhere else I've tried and I'll undoubtedly be going back.
