The whole experience was beyond our expectations. The service was spot on, with friendly staff that made our dinner enjoyable. Every single dish we tried was delicious, so much so we could not label a 'favourite'. We absolutely recommend all vegans and not to try this restaurant!

Wonderful vegan sushi restaurant in Brighton that we found off the Michelin guide. It was very quiet on a weeknight but such a wonderful atmosphere and beautiful restaurant and felt quite relaxing. The food was delightful, we went for the sushi platter so that we could try a bit of everything. I would definitely recommend also getting the tofu sharing dish which the name is escaping me. I usually don't care for vegan sushi because a lot of times I find that the rolls taste very similar because their all veggie based, but Kusaki rolls had such flavor and really different taste profiles. The cocktail list was short but the drinks we got were all delicious. The service was a bit slow at times, having to ask for additional drinks and for the bill. Hard to catch an eye sometimes, but we were in no rush so no problem for us there. Definitely go visit whether you're veggie or not - will not disappoint!

The food here was absolutely exceptional, every mouthful was so delicate and beautifully balanced. I took my partner here for a birthday meal and at first I think he was a little disappointed not to have tempura prawns but the plant based dishes were so good - one of the best Japanese meals we’ve had - that he didn’t miss the fish. The staff were really welcoming, attentive and professional and the décor beautiful and elegant. It has a quiet, refined atmosphere. We had sharing plates - all delicious. For dessert we had the deconstructed apple pie (pictured).

This place is very special as I liked everything about it. Good nicely presented food, pretty decor and lots of space. Service is very friendly and attentive. I recommend mocktails with raspberries, a curry and crispy tofu. I didn't like brownies too much (a bit too gingery for me) but ice cream was great.

We booked a table for dinner during the weekday, nice atmosphere, quiet and relaxing. The food was very nice, we tried many small plates and some sushi. We also had dessert which were very nice. The cocktails were delicious! Highly recommend, it felt like a very special meal.

We were in Brighton for our wedding anniversary and my wife's birthday. We went back to Kusaki twice. Super friendly staff. Alex, Andrew, Gwen and Bram went above and beyond to make our visit super excellent. Gourmet Japanese food that is exceptional with an explosion of tastes. Staters, mains and dessert are sublime. We had mocktails which are so refreshing. Highly recommend Kusaki on every level!

This restaurant is a vegan gem, not the easiest place to find....but once you have found it, believe me it's like finding a long lost hidden treasure. My husband is a professional musician and we have eaten all over the world.....but Vegan Japanese cuisine is not easy to normally find....until now.....Andrew the manager and the lovely Alex and Gwen were amazingly helpful and are very happy to explain the menu....the food was heavenly, I crave vegan Japanese food and this satisfied my cravings 100% The food is clean, bursting with flavours, its cooked to order so it's beautifully fresh, there wasn't one thing we ordered that we didnt enjoy, the fusion desserts are amazing, the mocktails were very beautifully put together, absolutely now one of my favourite places to eat, I highly recommend a trip to this gem of a restaurant.

Great food and dining experience. Innovative food. Really nice staff. Had a little hiccup with our order going in and getting delayed but they sorted it with grace. Would recommend and go again.

Had some great vegan sushi at this beautiful, fully-vegan venue over the weekend. Service was prompt, pleasant and helpful with the menu. We were seated at the bar as we didn’t have a booking but honestly I think those were the best seats in the house anyway. We ordered some gyoza and tempura for a starter as recommended by the staff and they went down really well, especially the gyoza. For the main, we got the sharing platter and that had a great range of options and was a very generous serving size. You can mix and match different items from the menu if you prefer but this seemed like the easiest and most cost effective option. It came with 4 dips and one of these was absolutely delicious - I’m not sure which it was but it was the thickest of the four. We didn’t try any deserts or cocktails but it looked like they had good options. Only thing to watch out for is if you ask for some water for the table, ask for tap so you don’t get charged £3 for a bottle!!

Really really amAzing food! Even if all vegan (and am not) the flavours of everything was truly special. I will come back! Loved the orange wine (tasted the first price), the tangy Yukiyo cocktail with tuzu guava and beetroot and mmmm... the 'drunken rice' as a side and the celeriac steak was astonishing!
