Il Locale Italian

I love Italian food and this restaurant serves delicious Italian food!!! Pasta is homemade and sauces are delicious, we had a real Carbonara and was flavorsome!! All dishes were tasty from starters to desserts. The service was great too, friendly and attentive, nothing to complain about it. We concluded our dinner with some limoncello and porto. Thank you Locale for this amazing dinner. I definitely recommend this place.

The evening (valentines day) started off really lovely and we were excited to find this place, however the service deteriorated as the evening went on. The chef was amazing and you could tell he puts his heart and soul into the food. We spent lots of time waiting for orders to be taken and one drink for the entire evening. We watched a very stressful situation unfold between the staff. Diners waiting for long periods of time and having to get up and ask for orders to be taken. It was just awkward.

Order by Uber eats twice. My first experience of pizza was good. On my second order I ordered a parmigiana and a pasta dish and was very disappointed with the size and taste. Firstly the parmigiana consisted two tiny slices of undercooked eggplant with a very acidy tomato sauce and some cheese on top, totally unacceptable for $19. At a push it was an entree. The arrabbiata was also very small and acidy. Both dishes were listed as mains but certainly were not that. Very disappointing.

This used to be one of my absolute favourite restaurants in Brisbane with some of the best Italian food around. They used to have the most amazing waitstaff, perfect food, and was my go-to place for date night or dinner with friends. I'm not really sure what's happened - perhaps a change in owner/staff - but my last two visits to Il Locale were extremely disappointing. The food quality has changed significantly, and in my last two visits not one single person I dined with enjoyed their meals - they were either lacking seasoning, or over-salted to the point of being inedible. The waitstaff seem like they can't really be bothered to have you there and we felt really rushed - paid over $120 for dinner for two last time and they rushed us in and out in just over 30 minutes. It felt like a fast food experience for an extremely high price... I was really hoping it was just an off night, but after my last visit I can say for sure that I won't be dining here again. So disappointed.

Been here numerous times over the years and it's been very good. Not this time! Waited 1 hour before an attempt was made to take our orders, but we decided to leave without eating - we were sick of being ignored. We were then told we didn't book, and then had to pay for the bottle of water! Not coming back.
