Govinda's Vegetarian Restaurant

This place has really changed. It's lost its heart and soul. With the "feast meal" it used to be all you can eat with a free drink and dessert. That is no more. The prices have gone up. Nothing is free. They even charge for papadams. I know times are tough but you would expect more from a so called hare krishna place. I guess you can't blame them for taking money off the large population of normy office workers that frequent the area but it's at the expense of their original demographic, the hippies/punks, vegans/vego's and even the hare krishnas themselves. Such a shame.

Govindas is a fabulous vegetarian restaurant servicing Brisbane's CBD. It is situated on George Street and is quite a convenient walk for lunch. The food is fresh and fabulous. I don't know how they do it, but each dish is extremely yummy. The issue I have when I visit here is which dish/es do I want?! The selection is great and healthy and sometimes I find it hard to choose between favorites!! The prices are really very affordable - you can get a FULL meal for less than $10! Well worth a try - I highly recommend!

The food is ok but the restaurant itself is filthy, dirty, and sticky from years of dirt and grime stuck to everything. It’s a health hazard and makes you wonder what the hygiene standards are in the kitchen. Look at my picture of the trays. Absolutely disgusting. Everything is dirty and sticky. Yuck. Definitely wash your hands after leaving the restaurant to make sure you don’t catch anything.
