Treasure Inn Cuisine

We first discovered Treasure Inn in 2017 when we have just moved to Graceville at the time. One has to really look for it cause it’s nestled in the corner of time square and there is not much giving it away (maybe that was the intention all along-making this a true treasure to find) Anyways, it started as a pure chance encounter but this had been a rewarding food experience ever since we first set foot in there. What can I say my wife and I really enjoy the food and always order at least 3 different dishes to get the most out of the variety of food that this restaurant offers. We have now been there countless times and can recommend the following with no hesitation: combination fried rice, black pepper beef/ stir fried chicken and some seafood if there is still room left :). The portions are always generous and the taste is really authentic- especially the Sichuan dishes (Needlessly to say my wife is Chinese). We have moved house now but are still making the drive (45 min at least) when we are craving for great Chinese Food. This place is a true gem in Graceville and I can promise there is simply nothing like it in the surroundings. Many thanks to Phil and Lim for feeding us delicious food over the years. WOW love Treasure Inn, so clean and the most friendliest staff, very helpful as my first time here, been trying to find a good Chinese takeaway for a while, read the amazing reviews on many platforms mostly 4/5 Star you don’t see that often and just had to try. So we ordered - Spring Rolls Garlic Beef Sweet and Sour Pork Crispy Beef Strips in Plum Sauce Curry Chicken Mongolian Lamb Rice OMG 🤤 EVERYTHING was amazing!!! Very authentic Chinese Food!! Sooooooo full writing this!!!! Can’t wait to go back and try some different dishes. Next Friday perhaps 😆 EDIT 1.4.2021 Ordered: Combination Fried Rice Chicken Curry and Rice again!! Crispy Beef Strips in Plum Sauce again!! Salt and Pepper Squid Fried Ho Fun Combination Lamb with Cashew Nuts ALL AMAZE 🙌🏽

Treasure Inn is one of the best places I’ve eaten at. Unfortunately I’ve driven past it and walked past it for the last 5 years, because it was tucked in the corner. I’m glad I’ve discovered it tonight. Jumbo Oysters dozen: These are some of the biggest oysters I’ve ever seen. They were artfully steamed with the shells capturing all the juices. There was just enough ginger and shallots to not overpower the oysters. So delicate. Definitely worth ordering. Soft Shell Crabs: Wow! So many soft shell crabs that were delicately cooked. The coating was so thin and brought out the texture and flavour of the crabs. Second dish a winner. Tiger King Prawns with a special sauce: I saw some pics of these prawns on google review and I was dreaming about them for a few days. I was not disappointed! The heads are kept on and have so much flavour. The texture of the prawn flesh with the shells on, with the prawns being deveined. So bloody good. Get these. Wom bok with fish cakes and vermicelli: This is a very delicate dish with the right amount of ginger to balance out the flavour. The fish cakes had a beautiful texture and taste to balance the wom bok. Really good to balance the other meals. Highly recommend. Will be back. 2ND VISIT We went back for a second time in a week and ordered some more classic dishes to see if they were as good as the gourmet dishes we ordered earlier in the week - and yes, they were excellent! Roast Pork and Tofu Hot Pot This dish reminded me of ones I had when I was a child. The hot pot had so much heat inside it, the roast pork very tender, with the tofu soaking up all the juices of the broth. Fried Rice with Chicken Like the hot pot, I loved the heat and flavour of extremely high temp wok cooking. Very good. Wonton Soup - Large Lots of large wontons. The wontons had a great chewy texture, which I love in a wonton. Definitely 5 stars! OUR THIRD VISIT * HIGHLIGHT Steamed whole coral trout This was perfectly steamed with the flesh very succulent and firm. It had the right amount of ginger, chilli and soya sauce. Definitely one of Australia’s finest fish dishes. The entree dishes were very good. Incredibly puffy wonton wrappers, with the meat gently cooked inside. Good super hot frying technique. Combination noodles and chicken treasure hot pot - great flavours in each dish. 3 visits, definitely 5 stars!

I don't know what happened to this place. It used to be amazing but the last two take aways we have had have been absolute rubbish. Tonight we ordered honey chicken, salt and pepper squid and a large rice. Rice was passable, but the honey chicken was absolutely disgusting. I expected crunchy fried chicken with (ideally) honey sauce in a separate container. What I got, was a soggy disintegrating mess. The squid wasn't as bad, and we were able to save it by tossing it around in a pan at home. The honey chicken was not so lucky and it's currently in the bin. I know that you can't expect perfection with these type of dishes take away. But with <10 mins door to door. I have had much better elsewhere. We will never go back.
