Guzman Y Gomez - Fortitude Valley

Very pleasantly surprised. Been putting off trying their food as I am not mad on traditional Mexican flavours. At a loose end today and found ourselves in the shopping precinct with heaps of choices. Decided to take the risk and went to Guzmans and ordered nachos. For $13 it was actually excellent! Very tasty and corn chips crisp and yummy. Recommend that you give it a try. Will definitely be back. Nice outdoor setting and not cramped. Only serve Corona sadly but at only $5, worth it.

It’s very unfortunate to see the slow decline in quality over the last 6 months . And normally I’d not pay too much attention to it but it’s just been really bad recently. Last meal we ordered 2 beef burritos that had a burnt taste to them and no real flavour , chips were cold and soggy and the overall mena just wasn’t up to standard. The staff are really nice and service is good just unfortunately the food quality has decreased a lot.

Arrived at 10pm to be ushered away by a staff member who insists that the store closes at 10pm even though the website reads 11pm. He gave me some dribble about a stock problem even though the staff were still preparing meals for uber and other customers. Just surprised this guy thinks that having a stock problem at exactly 10pm is going to fly. Normally ok. Lately it's been constantly closed and the quality of food and serving is low

***CHICKEN IS ALWAYS COLD IN NACHOS*** Why is the chicken always cold on the Nachos at this GYG? This has happened the last 4x times I have tried to order here. Food came quick, so it's not because it's been sitting around. Maybe keep at a more suitable hot temperature? I know the Queensland Department of Health and their Food Safety Standards and Regulations would not be too supportive of the food temperature standards here. *EDIT I have emailed the GYG response email below as requested. Let's see if there is an appropriate response. At the end of the day, all we want is safe, HOT chicken in our food. Please stop serving it cold.

Tried ordering a delivery to Kangaroo Point on this Friday at around 7ish. Placed order and was rejected. No reason given, You are a fast food outlet. I do not expect failure at such low level. Get your act together. You're not some high end restaurant. Please provide what you are advertising when someone orders. Thanks for nothing
