The Wickham

Took husband and son there for afternoon refreshments on Sunday. A really nice place and I must say, the staff were so friendly and welcoming. The food was great and the atmosphere was relaxed and friendly. The staff though, both floor staff and wait staff were so great and made you feel welcome and want to go back. We stuffed up numerous times on the self ordering app but the manager was great (thanks ! Alex!)

This is a great place for any occasion. It's a great place where you can socialise and have a dance, or enjoy a drink. The Wickham is a safe place as well where you can meet new people, relax and check out the shows. The drag shows are full of life, emotion and sometimes laughter, they are hosted by local big drag personas. The drag queens love a photo, and don't forget to buy them a drink if you get to talk to them. The Wickham also host a trivia night, the host running the show is welcoming and entertaining, he interacts with the guest and keeps them engaged. This is a great night out during the week to break the work week or to have a little escape from the norm. The environment is very comfortable and casual, there is a feeling of being welcomed no matter your orientation, background etc. The team is friendly and respectful of all patrons. They are always going above and beyond for the customer. The menu has a variety of great options, it is casual yet very tasty and good value, the portions are a good size as well. I recommend the tacos, they are very delicious, on fresh tortillas.

It’s neat to see such an old building being so progressive. Went on a slower night, but still had fun. I was truly impressed to see a d&b sound system on the patio- if you’re an audio nerd like me, that’s an automatic A+. Crowd isn’t pretentious and the bar staff are friendly (and unfortunately bound by these asinine QLD liquor laws, but that’s completely out of their hands!). I’ll be back.
