5 Boroughs

I ordered the halloumi tacos this afternoon and it was quite a let down. I think they make the tortillas in house because they were good but it was basically just a huge pile of coleslaw with three frozen, rubbery, tasteless pieces of what I think was ‘halloumi’ I was pretty disappointed, the place is a little overpriced and now I know there was a reason as to why there was no one else eating here, at lunch time. The staff however at this location were friendly and accommodating.

Ordered baby rack rib, hot wings, specialty burger, ice tea jug (vodka in it) Overall my experience was very poor. Here is why: Very disappointing rib. I can tell that the meat is pretty old. I don’t know why but sauce had fishy and bitter taste. Chicken wing... first of all, it’s not really WINGS.. taste wise, very average. Burger was disappointing as well. It was $18 speciality burger but patty was very thin and not juicy at all. Probably one of the worst burger that I had in that price point. Only good thing that I had was waffle chips. It was reasonable. Still quite ordinary but it was still crunchy and not too salty. Ice tea jug ($27) - I wouldn’t We had 25% off the rig eat club. Even with 25% off, I thought it was not worth it. I wouldn’t go back.

Here's a tale of surprise and disappointment. This is a photo story of bad value for money. Photos 1 and 2 are 5 Boroughs Restaurant at Stones Corner, Brisbane. It's just outside of Aldi supermarket. Photo 3 is a burger that I purchased from said restaurant today. It's a Manhattan Royale with Cheese. Photo 4 is the menu showing the price of this burger. It's $17. Seventeen dollars! No fries or extras. $17 for a burger alone. Not a large burger in a pretty ordinary looking sesame seed bun. Taste wise, it's also pretty ordinary. Photo 5 is a packet of four pretty ordinary sesame seed buns inside Aldi, right next to the restaurant. It's an interesting coincidence that these ordinary sesame seed buns look like dead ringers for the one that was sold to me at $17 with a pretty ordinary filling. $17 for an ordinary burger, $9 for a beer... I don't reckon that's good value. Now of course I chose knowingly to buy a single burger for $17 and a beer for $9. I did expect something better than an Aldi bun with an ordinary filling. I certainly would not call it good or even reasonable value and I certainly will not return.

Worst customer service I have received. Ordered a take away order and was told it will be ready at 4.50pm. Arrived to 3 staff members and an empty shop. One is eating a burger and one goes to collect an order. As he leaves he tells me my food is just about ready, give it 5minutes. I then proceed to wait outside the shop with no customers till 5.15pm, 25 minutes after they said my order would be ready. I then received these 'poutine' fries below. Stone corner 5 boroughs is the worst experience I have had at a 5 boroughs again. The one in Rosalie is recommended but steer clear of this place.

Where's the sauce?!? I was looking forward to "double smoked whisky BBQ sauce" both our burgers were dry. My Rump patty particularly was super hard and dry, tasted like it was on the grill for two hours. A pea sized amount of sauce on a $20 burger.. $70 for two disappointing burgers and chips (no drinks) Either hold more regular staff training or half your prices. (Disclaimer I'm not even a picky boomer I hate leaving negative reviews. I'm a dispointed 24 year old thats had better burgers from the Hungry Jacks Grill Masters range) One star is for the gluten free bun. The other was for the bacon, everything else needs work.

I had some very nice burgers and sandwiches, really juicy, cooked very well, really enjoyable what I had the last couple of days. Customer service was very helpful with my orders. They have a huge menu with lots of different options and variety, I had a tough time choosing, which is a good headache to have. Will definitely visit here again sometime.

Terrible service, we only order 1kg of chicken wings and fries and it took more than 30 minutes to get the food with no more people in the restaurant, we only got one plate and we were 2 people that actually arrived after us ate first. The chips were fried in really dirty oil, the chicken wings were undercook. Rates: Food= 3.5 Service= 1 Money= 3 Don’t come here if you don’t want to waste your money and get a really bad experience.
