The Olive Cafe - Wynnum

Great service and beautiful food. Coffee was great. I come here because it's the best food in Wynnum. As top quality and very fresh. I over heard the owner say to customers that he had a new staff member making coffee and he stated that if anyone is unhappy with anything that he gives a 30 day warranty on all his Coffee and food. 24/11/18

I browsed the glass counter for some time before deciding what to order. The gentleman serving was ready for my order before I had decided. I ordered a small, half strength, cappuccino and a baklava. My order arrived very quickly. The coffee was hot and a little strong in taste, yet good. The baklava was moorish. Before I left, I ordered a small takeaway salad, consisting of two salads in a take away container. Looking forward to it.

3.5 Stars Food was okay. Nothing special. A good choice of salads, however the ingredients were fairly average. Mostly canned foods, iceberg lettuce, cheap mayonnaise etc. I can't understand why so many people are impressed with average food quality? Especially when the price is no lower than better establishments. We had quiche Lorraine which was nice enough. I feel it was probably from Bidvest or one of the other main F&B suppliers. As they were very uniform and did not look homemade. Coffee was so so. Don't ask for iced latte, they don't understand what it is or how to make. You'll get syrup, ice cream and cream. Flavoured syrup is not coffee. A shot of espresso, milk and ice can't be that difficult to make. Can it? All in all a pretty typical local cafe. Great if you enjoy listening to the owners/service staff yelling at each other. Don't go after 1pm as you'll have the chairs and tables packed up around you. Smiles were very forced. :D Just very average. Try somewhere else in the area if you get the chance.

FRIENDLY SERVICE The owner is cheeky and a bit of a character. The staff are happy and friendly. You tend to end up smiling yourself. ATMOSPHERE Inside and out seating available No air conditioning Old decore and could do with an upgrade Plenty of regulars come in for coffee or breakfast WHEELCHAIR No steps, wheelchair friendly KIDS Baby seats (High chairs) Kid friendly food menu No gates between cafe and the road, better for seated or older children who will stay in their seat.
