Barcadia Kitchen And Bar

Easy 5 stars for Barcadia. Found on the popular Oxford Street in Bulimba, Barcadia serves some of the best chicken wings I have tasted in Brisbane, or really anywhere in Australia. Different flavours to choose from, we had the Dry Habanero Rub and it was delicious as well as hot. The rest of the dishes were great as well. Stephanie, our hostess was awesome. Super friendly and helpful and took her time to answer our questions and made great suggestions for cocktails. Speaking of cocktails, great variety of whiskey cocktails *hint* ask Stephanie about their 'off the menu' recommendations. Overall great service, food and drinks equalled a wonderful night out. Thanks Barcadia, and see you tomorrow night. I'm bringing my team in for drinks and those amazing wings :)

watched our fries sit on the service counter for around 6 minutes. The chef dinged the service bell around 3 times and the servers, who were not busy, ignored it. when we got them they tasted like cold maccas fries. I ordered the 24hr cooked brisket. Absolutely disgusting, tasted like it had been cooked a week ago and reheated in the microwave - so dry and some parts inedible. As for the fajitas they tasted like they came out of a packet. I have no idea where the $35 I spent on the meal went.

Food quality was amazing, flavour combinations were amazing. Service on the other hand was dismal. No greetings, which is ok during busy times, desert was brought out before the main. No apology or even communication at all. Just took the desert back and brought mains out later, half came out right soon after, other half came out 10 minutes later. No communication at all when delivering food, no smile, no "enjoy your meal". We came to watch football and they changed the Handel halfway through the game towards the end. After a few couples complained including ours, there was no real effort to change back, 4 people left in disgust. Pretty unfortunate for a place that had some of the best food I have eaten in a while. Could have just been an off night, but definitely left a negative impression on me and the friends.
