Forest Lake Tavern

First time visiting this establishment, overall presented clean and tidy. Ordered food and drinks via qcode menu which worked as expected. Able to order steaks cooked the way we wanted, and they were cooked over a flame which added to the taste. Drinks and meals arrived promptly. Only let downs were the bread rolls being stale, should have stuck with the garlic bread. And while the ribs were fall of the bone, they were cold and could have done with a reheat over the flame.

Menu is digital, filled with blatant lies. I've been a few times and the staff are lovely, but it's inexcusable when crispy wings are just wings with sauce, a picture of 20 small calamari is actually like 4..... I honestly feel scammed. The pictures looking nicer is one thing, but actually being completely different food items is just a scam.

The service here is excellent, especially Alice. She ALWAYS has a smile for EVERYONE, constantly putting 100% in to making sure her customers are satisfied and looked after. The manager was lovely as well, helping out her team and making sure the customers were taken care of. The plant burger is delicious!!! Best plant based burger my partner and I have found, and we have been to almost every vegan and non-vegan restaurant around Brisbane/Ipswich/Gold Coast area. They also have an indoor playground where your kids can play while you have a meal.

Atmosphere is not to my taste, but it is a tavern. You know what is to my taste though? This place's food. Simple, yet satisfying. Staff attentive, friendly and have a surprising pride in their work. The time you attend will dictate your final experience, but as far as I'm concerned this place has been consistently good. A local's treat for sure.

The Taven was busy, so lucky we booked. I'm sure they would have found a table for us either way, but I would still recommend booking. Staff were really nice and happy to have a chat too. Everyone at our table ate all of their meals which shows the food was spot on. Steak was cooked to perfection. Happy to head back to this local spot.

Went there for dinner last night with my partner & my parents. We got off to a rocky start as there was a mix up with our table. Candice & Troy were amazing at fixing the issue. When it came time to our meals they were perfect-could not fault them. Candice and the other staff certainly do go above & beyond to make your dining experience enjoyable.

Went there tonight with my partners family and none of us were impressed. We had a lovely lady who showed us the table and explained the menu and for we can order. We than got to ordering our drinks before food. We each went up to the bar and watched this poorly trained girl pour beer, each of our drinks had no foam which was a disappointment. My mother in law paid with cash and they didn’t have enough change in the till and told her they’d run it out to her when they got it. We than each got our food almost at the same time but my partners ribs were cold but her chips were warm. My salmon was undercooked in the middle. My mother in law asked for a steak knife for her chicken and was told she’d get one but didn’t, so my partner went up and got her one personally. The next disappointment was when we looked up we could all clearly see a server chewing gum in the middle of service like a cow where they run food to the table, my partner and I than watched him serve a nearby table chewing gum right next to their faces. I was also watching him lean on the counter every time he was waiting for food to be rEady to be served . There was another girl behind the bar also chewing gum in the middle of service. This is the worst place I’ve gone to and seen the staff not even act like they’re working. The thing that was disappointing the most about it was the manager not even noticing herself and correcting these staff..
