Terra Nostra

We were very excited to try Terra Nostra's arancini & stuffed swordish which was advertised as being available on their website on the night of our booking. When we arrived there no arancini or swordfish on the menu & we were told that was last week's menu. I had checked the website 2 hours earlier which clearly stated these choices for 8 March. Instead there were no starters and a choice of 4 or 5 very basic pasta dishes and salad & bruschetta. I love the concept of Wandering Cooks but you need to ensure what you aim to deliver is delivered. Drink prices are outrageous too. Very disappointed.

We ate at Riverland outlet. Arrancini nice. Came with mesclun and warmish undercooked chips with dark breadcrumbs from the fryer. Arrancini tasted nice, but very tight on the actual filling. Croquettes nice but hardly a spec of ham... Being ham and cheese croquettes.... But good taste. I asked if gnocchi were home made or bought in. ( Which is ok if it was) was told they are home made and was going to order them. Then watched them being portioned out from a packet for another order. Hmm. Don't say home made when you then open packet. Asked for a tax receipt but was declined one. Why? Although not busy, waited very long time. So, for the Riverland outlet, def room for improvement.

The two Sicilian guys who run it are super friendly and their love of food shows in what they produce. I've been to WC now more times than I can count and I keep coming back to their mouthwatering arancini. The paste di mandorla goes so well with morning coffee too. The best part is you can eat here at least six different times and not have a single thing the same! Nothing seems to change at the other places. I would absolutely recommend!
