Salsa's Fresh Mex Grill

I’m from Southern California, and I love me some Mexican food. Sadly, Brisbane doesn’t seem to offer very many decent options. This is one of the better Mexican joints I’ve found, the burritos/bowls are delicious (though still not quite as good as what I’m used to). I’d recommend this place to anyone looking for a quick bite, I’m always happy with what i order.

My friend wanted to buy an alcoholic beverage that was made up of a slurpee of some sort. The girl said she didn’t know how to make it. Come on guys, train your staff. Totally unprofessional. Small serving size for burrito. Been here twice, thinking I would give it a second chance. Staff look unenthusiastic and outright drowsy. Not trying to be a hater for no reason. Just my honest opinion. Very hard to find quality Mexican food around.

I had the Texas Beef Burrito bowl and I enjoyed it. Nice and filling and under 2000kj (before I added Guacamole, lol) they also serve a small selection of beer, wine, Sangria and Margaritas. The young man behind the counter was very friendly. I was satisfied with this place as a healthier fast food option.

Went in for a quick and easy meal this evening with my wife. Wasn't quick, took 25 minutes for 2 burritos. They got the order wrong, and the order that was wrong was sat on the counter for 10 minutes until it was brought to our table where it was then repacked as a burrito. And then served barely warm. It was under staffed and the staff that were there were more interested in the Uber eats orders than customers of the restaurant. We weren't the only ones that were sat waiting a comical amount of time waiting for our order. There were multiple dirty tables, mess on the floor, very poorly wiped tables. Honestly, Macca's has a lot more going for it in terms of cleanliness than here. Go to Guzman's at the Emporium instead, it's much better.

Staff that brought food out was clearly new, when asked which was chicken and which was vegetarian, she just pointed at the ones that were in front of my colleague and I. I'm vegetarian and my "veggie" meal was chicken! I went and spoke to two ladies preparing the food, explained what happened, they offered to make me another meal. But i explained the right food had come out, but we were told which was which the wrong way around. To which I was told the staff member was new and that she was still learning. If she wasn't sure, she should have asked, not just guessed like it didn't matter! Not at all impressed by the lack of empathy and resolve offered. I felt like I had to have had an allergic reaction for it to be taken seriously!

I told the staff I wasn't gonna order yet, was just looking at the menu and deciding. She kept staring at me and I said again "it's ok, I still don't know if I'll order, am just thinking" and she kept staring and standing in front of me. Felt uncomfortable. The other day I've tried it and it's overpriced for it's quality. Staff are not well trained. Not many options of proteins for food. Disappointing.
