Hanaichi

Came to this place after 3 years. They’re still serving the same tofu curry with a definite hike in prices. From $6 something to $8.40 plus extra for sauce. Ordered the same thing - small size, half rice and extra sauce. The sauce used to be not charged, but like everything else, rising costs and inflation. Quick service. Order at counter and he then yells it through the kitchen window lol It’s been like that forever. Appreciated the medium size bowl so that the sauce didn’t flow over. Food tasted same and was nice.

At the food court I unfortunately bought Hanaichis fried chicken bowl. Not worth the effort or money, I think the bowl it came in would have more flavour. You get a sprinkle of spring onion in my case 3 little bits of the middle part of the spring onion and a little bit of pickled ginger which I did not like with the dish. I was told before I purchased it, that the there was a little bit of chicken mince not chicken bits in the rice....or maybe the idea of chicken?? As I sit here reviewing this dish in tears... you're probably thinking you don't have to finish eating the rice. No I don't. But I'm tired, hangry....wait a minute; I just can't 🙅😭

Ordered fried rice and chips, disappointed with both. Chicken fried rice doesn't have ANY chicken at all, no veggies either, just rice with soy sauce :(. Chips were really small in portion no chicken salt or anything for $4...this place have the worst chips and the worst fried rice of my entire life.

When the home cook calls a last minute strike, it's good to have The EatClub app to the rescue. Wifey wasn't feeling well and requested I get some takeaway on my way home. A quick browse on the Eat Club app and I see a 30% off deal at Hanaichi in Westfield Garden City nearby - one of the few places in the upstairs foodcourt that was open for dinner on a Sunday night. We had: * beef yakiniku with rice, $12.50 (large) * teriyaki chicken with rice, $11.20 (large) The teriyaki chicken isn't visible in the photo cos I saw a deal at the counter for an additional 100g of meat for $2.50 (down from the usual $4), so got that too with some Kay's chicken (karaage chicken), and that's what is sitting on top of the teriyaki chicken. I've always found Hanaichi to be a dependable source of good value offerings and fast service. This visit was no exception. The food was pretty tasty and good value, with enough portion to feed our 2+1 and still have some leftover towards my lunch the next day. Total bill using above deal plus a code for extra 5% off: $17.05. #bargain
