Bistro Korea

Cool wet day so I thought I would try out this place I had noticed a few times and I'm glad I did. I have been to Seoul for a long weekend and really liked Korean food. So in I go, and I am lucky to get a seat. I had beef bibimbab in a stone oven bowl and an apple drink. The beef bibimbab was delicious with shredded carrot and zucchini with a fried egg and well-cooked beef on a bed of onions and rice. This is a lunch special for $15 and it's a bargain at that price. I will be back to try some other dishes, Friendly service and pretty fast even though the place was busy on a Saturday at lunchtime.

Delicious food & fantastic service! The staff were very kind, caring & attentive. We will definitely put this place on our “return list” the people on the table next to us had chicken & chips which looked really good. We had the $12 Lunch Special, we ordered the Chicken Curry with rice & the Beef Bibimbab stone bowl each meal came with miso soup. My beef was absolutely delicious, fresh & full of flavour, the portion size was excellent value for $12. Bistro Korea is fairly small but the seating is comfortable with lots of cushions. It has a lovely atmosphere & it’s very clean & decorated beautifully with little Korean touches. I look forward to my return visit & trying out their menu.

The seafood pancake was nice and crispy, a little oily but flavours were good. The japchae (glass noodles) lunch meal was good too, glass noodles could of been more al dente but the seasoning was just right. It was nicely balanced with a fresh salad. The 3 flavours we got for the fried chicken were honey soy, garlic and sweet chilli. The chicken was good, similar to other Korean fried chicken places in town. Service was good, clean atmosphere and prices are very reasonable for lunch. Only downside was the small servings for pickled side dishes but overall a pleasant experience.
