Sri Thai Restaurant

Bland… Recently bought for the whole family dinner. Pad Thai tasted dry, bland and with undercooked noodles to which this general theme of blandness continued in the yellow curry. Fried rice was okay and probably the tastiest of all the dishes, which is saying something. Cashew and chicken stir fry was also just okay. Quite disappointed given this was a splurge for us.

Nice ambience, polite waiters. The place looked empty on weekend lunch but you could walk in and ring the bell by the counter for service. Ordered fish cakes as appetisers (photo), the chilli sauce was really not spicy at all (coming from Asian taste used to spicy food). Their red curry had 3 levels of spiciness: mild, moderate and spicy - moderate didn’t really feel spicy either! The curry was filled with meat, bamboo shoots, spinach and other vegetables which was really good value as sometimes you get a bowl full of curry and hardly any meat. Their steamed rice bowl at $3.50 could feed perhaps 3-4 pax even and we took away the left over rice. Payment by cards are accepted.

Took ages and was waiting around for a while. No good welcome or communication about the wait. The golden parcels were small, not fresh and flavourless. Also the pad thai had a very small amount of chicken, 2 little pieces of tofu, 0 veggies at all and most of the box was flavorless noodles. Not stoked unfortunately

We ordered the beef cashew nut stir-fry, the chicken peanut sauce stir-fry, side of calamari and jasmine rice. The food was delicious with a fantastic assortment of stir-fried vegetables (red and green capsicum, mushrooms, broccoli, cauliflower, onion, carrots, courgettes). Very reasonably priced. Excellent!
