We took my elderly in laws (in their 80s) out to this restaurant last weekend and it was the first time they had ever eaten Indian in their lives. They LOVED it!! the food was really tasty and the service was great. all four dishes had their distinctive flavours which I haven't experienced too often.

We took our two toddlers, one aged two and the other one and shared two curries, rice and naan bread.
Positives: food is delicious, waiter is polite (albeit a little reserved) and they brought a plate to the table for our daughter. I often have to ask at other establishments for this so I appreciated the thoughtfulness.
Negatives:
When we walked in, the lights were off and there was no one at the counter. We weren’t even sure they were open for service. The high chair didn’t have a tray which made it tricky for our one year old. Indian food isn’t the neatest food to eat.
The largest negative or turn off for me was the bathroom. Had I seen it first I would have walked back out. The door handle is taped on. I had to clean the seat which had marks on it despite us being the first and only lunchtime patrons, the soap dispenser was taped back together, once you’d put the seat down, you could tell it hadn’t been thoroughly cleaned recently, and the floors were grubby. The floors throughout the whole place need a good mop in general.
It’s a shame as the food is tasty. But cleanliness standards are a must, especially the bathroom.

We been there 3 times, every time found absolutely old food. This time they serve us uncooked chicken, made complaint but still uncooked. A counter man very roude, he does want to listen against his good. We insist him not to pay for uncooked chicken, he replied that doesn't care if we come next time or not. Guys they don't serve fresh food. Absolutely disgusting.

Avoid. We tried this restaurant with a Groupon for $29. It was really unpleasant. The waiter was abrasive. The three course "meal" didn't come with rice. The curries were completely lacking in spice. We ordered one medium and one mild and both were completely lacking any depth of flavour.
The only redeeming feature was the Naan. Spinach and cheese was good, that's the only reason this wasn't a 1 star experience.
We won't be back, and considering on a Friday night there were only 3 tables eating... all with Groupons, I'd say it's a common experience.

There’s a lot of competition for Indian food around our area which is great for us.
Discovered Simla Indian Restaurant yesterday and it is one of the best.
Rarely do we choose a banquet as it’s usually for four or more or too expensive for two people. Nearly ordered a la Carte but noticed just in time that banquet for two is only $47. That will dae me!
I’m a vegetarian, wife is a carnivore. The banquet offers either vegetarian or meat. “Any chance of changing one of the serves to a lamb Madras”? Simple said the chef. So we did.
Vegetarian platter was terrific, followed by the lamb and a chosen curry. That, along with two huge roti, was too much for us. I tasted the madras sauce and it was superb. My veggie curry was pretty good too but not hot enough for me so I stole my wife’s madras.
All the other folk were Indian which should tell you something! It was a Monday so not expected to be packed but we were surprised that there weren’t more customers, especially as the ambience is good. Got talking to a couple of young chaps two tables away and they wanted to know if we liked the food. Yes we blooming well did.
Only complaint. Gonny reprint the menu so it fits in the cover without having to bend it back to read!
We'll be back.

Consistent mistakes and waiting times.
+ Good food
- Bad Service
Unfortunately, the service ruins it. Don't believe them when you order over the phone and they say "ready in 15 minutes". When you show up on time and ask for your order they will say "it will be another 5 minutes" skip to 45 minutes later and you are still waiting.
This happens to you a few times and you think you can just show up a bit later and get the food when you arrive. Unlucky, you have been fooled again, it will be ready in "five minutes". Between mixing up orders and sending your order out for delivery (and then serving you that same food, instead of cooking it fresh) you end up with an Indian food experience better off avoided.
To their credit they will sometimes bring free entrees or desserts to apologise for the wait. The problem is, I only know this because I have been made to wait too many times.

I had worst experience at the restaurant. We ordered Lamb Sag wala and there were literally four pieces of lamb inside it and taste was very salty. Service was horrible. We left the table just after tasting the food and had to pay for something we did not eat. Even people knew we did not like food, still no excuse or discount. Won't go there anymore.

Flavours were ok and the naan was good but when I pay $15 for a dish, I expect to get more than 7 small cubes of meat. My friend ordered a different dish and even she only got exactly 7 small cubes of meat. Would go back there if it was better value for money. Sorry!
