Kanishk

We live in Clayfield and went to Kanishk when it first opened - it was excellent...however over the last couple of years the service and quality of food has deteriorated immensely. We decided to take friends there tonight and had the worst experience. We ordered mild butter chicken for my daughter and told them to ensure there was NO chillis, as she is allergic to peppers. The butter chicken arrives and my daughter had some and burst into allergies. The owner was not perturbed at all and said that they made a mistake. Then the naans came out and they were almost uncooked. I took it back to the counter and asked for naan that was cooked. My husbands Goat curry - meat was so tough - he could not eat it at all. My friends meals were supposed to be 'medium' hot, but they could not eat it as it was too hot..... It appears that the ownership has changed and /or the Chef. This used to be a classy, good quality restaurant.

Terrific food! The dishes are fully loaded with flavor and aroma. Every time you go there ,the staff shows the same warmth and enthusiasm. Absolute knowledge of the origin of the dishes followed by medieval stories. I have tried number of restaurants as I am a non veg lover, this place is unique for discovering new flavors always. I love it!

Extremely disappointed. Ordered the advertised on the front door "best butter chicken in Brisbane", which it was most definitely not.. The chicken was very dry and had similar taste to Rogan Josh, not the distinct creamy flavour at butter chicken should have. The Spinach and cheese naan had no cheese, very dry. Will not be returning for overpriced Indian. Bombay Bliss at Chermside is still by far the best Indian for the north side, well worth the drive.

It is simply amazing the way food is presented and served at kanishk Restaurant,Clayfield.If you love food then I believe this place should be your hub in Brisbane. The aroma of freshly roasted mutton seekh kebab will make your mouth water even before you have sat down. This is one place in Clayfield where you will get your food before you have completed reading the menu (Happens with me all the time). I have had the best lamb Biriyani at Kanishk and even with a Uric Acid value of 7.5, I rarely give this one a miss when I just feel to eat. Overall food is ultimate and people in love with ROGAN will enjoy the most...Don't just forget to taste the mutton Mussallam of lamb.

One of the worst experience i had today in this restaurant. I ordered Paneer Chilli. What i got was Tomato Paste with 6 big pieces of paneer and few uncooked capsicum. Common Chef use your brain please and see the recipes if you dont know the one. Use FRESH TOMATOES for God sake instead of Tomato paste.
