The Fish Grotto

It's hard to know where to start, the food is extraordinary and delicious, the views are breathtaking, and to top it all off they host. Live music weekly! Cannot say enough good things about this wonderful establishment. From the glass elevator ride to the non-stop views from the top, Monterey Bay Fish Grotto has it all! I highly recommend it for a special occasion or just to treat yourself. I had the crab cakes which rivaled any you'd get along the coast! Generous side servings of asparagus and lyonnaise potatoes. Appreciated the non-alcoholic drinks on the menu as well.

I came here on my birthday on 5/26. We have a lovely view of the city, the couches we sat at were comfortable, and we ate the best salmon ever! I have eaten a lot of salmon at other restaurants, and this place has the best salmon hands down! It was juicy, flavorful, and not dry! They gave me a free dessert for my birthday with a candle on it. The staff was very friendly and checked on us often to make sure we were enjoying our food.

If you live in Pittsburgh or are visiting you need to make a reservation and enjoy this spectacular venue! The views! Some of if not the best view of this special city. One of the best steaks I've ever had in my travels. I'm not exaggerating either.. Exquisite is the word that comes to mind. What a wonderful experience, food, staff and atmosphere. We had an amazing night at Monterey Bay Fish Grotto! The service from John was top notch and the food blew us away. Truly the best crab cakes we ever had! We tried the angel food cake grilled cheese, and while we expected it to be good, we were blown away just by how amazing it was! We had a very nice and romantic night and I can't wait to come back!

Quite simply, one of the top restaurants in The United States. Seafood trio (skewer, crab cake, and shrimp), She-crab bisque, grouper, parmesan crusted swordfish with a lemon cream sauce, and roasted heirloom carrots. To top it off is a Pittsburgh angel food cake grilled cheese: the best dessert I’ve ever had. Service, management, and hospitality all top notch!!! This really felt like a magical experience ❤️❤️

We had one night in Pittsburgh and chose this restaurant after Altius was closed due to an accident. Couldn't have been happy with our choice - this place is the best! The views are amazing and the restaurant is split over several levels so if you request a window table you're quite likely to be in luck. Interesting menu and everything we had was delicious and very well cooked. Great staff too. Perfect place for a special evening.

Visited for a birthday dinner with my partner and everything was all around fantastic! Our server was excellent; a very knowledgeable and all-around kind person. The rest of the staff were also great and added in an extra special birthday flair to our dessert with a champagne bonus which was super sweet of them! The food and wine itself was EXCELLENT! The seafood was incredibly fresh, some of the freshest & quality seafood I've had in Pittsburgh! The specialty plate (I got the tuna sashimi) was also a large proportion and absolutely delicious. I feel like the view speaks for itself but it was indeed wonderful. The ambiance was great as the sun set with basically a 360 degree view of the city. We sat at a window seat and also felt absolutely no rush at all to move along while dining. I would wholly, highly recommend visiting for a special occasion! It is well worth the entire experience! :)

We love Monterey Bay Fish Grotto! We got married here during what I believe was their first lunchtime wedding event. It was a beautiful day and while a little warm with all the direct afternoon sun, we were in the shade soon enough and everything was perfect. The food is outstanding. The only thing better than the food is the impeccable service by the staff. They are incredibly attentive and professional, and strive to make your day special. We had such an amazing time and we will surely be back each year to celebrate our anniversary with them. Thank you all for making our wedding day so perfect!
