Volunteer Tavern - Bristol - Photo album

One of the best off the cuff pub meals I've had for a while. We ordered the chicken wings (skinny but tasty), calamari (garlic sauce was amazing) chicken dirty frys... yummy and the corn on the cob which wad presented well and tasted amazing.. booze also good and cheap.. 2 rounds and and dinner... b
Amazing 100/100 roasts. Me and my friend had a range of roasts vegetarian pork and Beef and all were amazing. We were told our roasts were going to take a little longer which was okay and they gave us extra cauliflower cheese to make up for it. I will defo be returning for some cheesecake !!
A wonderful community pub with a nice selection of beers, and excellent Sunday roast. Would happily make this my local if I lived nearby. Staying within 10 minutes walk to this venue and knowing of their listing in the Camra Beer Guide, I made a beeline for this cosy community pub, literally within
This is fast becoming my favourite roast in Bristol, everyone gets a yorkie and all the trimmings. Really friendly and lively atmosphere, can get busy on a Sunday so I recommend booking.
We tried the new menu on opening day and we’re blown away ! Fresh, vibrant flavours & exciting new combos : never had nachos like that before . The cauliflower wings were certainly big enough to share . I went for Buffalo sauce which I thought was medium spiced though my dinner date rated then as v
We popped in for a Sunday roast this week having found the Volunteer Tavern almost by accident. Both the food and atmosphere were amazing. It had a wonderful community pub feel and the staff clearly work hard to make it a relaxed, fun and friendly experience for customers. There’s also a hidden ge
One of my fav pubs. Good beer and friendly staff. Nice beer garden.
Lovely outside seating area, great presentation. Fluffy Yorkshire’s. Superb service, just superb.
We ordered beef roasts and are a bit disappointed with the volume of the plates. I know other pubs serve more at the same price. But the atmosphere was nice as well as the staff.
Fun times at the volunteer. So much more interesting than your generic Bristol City centre pub, with actual humans for bar staff. Thank you.
Really fun pub with spacious outdoor area - beautifully decorated too! The staff are lovely and the food smelt great (sadly didn’t get to try). The ale selection is good but the lager is disappointing and at £4.50 for the cheapest pint I hoped it would taste a little nicer.
Always known as a great pub, but the new menu is absolutely superb. We had the chicken leg dish and the food was so flavourful. 100% going back to work our way through the menu.
We went on a Thursday night a group of friends and I to catch up and we were surprised with a very fun bingo-songs night! We order some food although we didn't expect they were all going to be burgers... we misread I guess, they were nice and tasty tho. Super friendly and fun staff, for us is always
This is very local to us, so we do appreciate them for what they do. Of course staff are very kind. Garden/Nature views are extremely nice, and the little opens rooms with benches are great. They always do different kind of menus here, but at the moment they have an only Vegan Menu. I am definitel
We popped in for a roast today and had a fab time! The roast was 10/10 (tender pork, crispy crackling, rich gravy, bubbling dishes of creamy cauli cheese). Friendly staff, food and drink well priced. Also just love the garden. We’ll be back!
The food was amazing. Had the Elote, pork belly bites and tradicional Cuban sandwich. The sandwich was especially good. The pickles extra generous and super tasty. Thank you!
