I bought my wedding dress through Ashwell & Co this year and could not speak more highly of the whole experience. They have a huge selection of the most gorgeous dresses but most importantly Kate is a wonderful source of advice, hype and help - she tracked down my dream 1930s silk gown and was able to advise around alterations and styling. Couldn't be happier, thank you!
Our dancing afternoon tea party was amazing! We were a party of 11 and had the most fabulous time. The dance teacher was very engaging and experienced, everyone had great fun. Kate and Will could not have done more for us and the cream tea afterwards was the best we have had in a long time! Very different, Victoria sponge was out of this world! Everything clearly homemade (even the clotted cream!) Will obviously took great pride in his baking and presentation, the results spoke for themselves, clean plates all round. Thank you both, a wonderful day had by all and the most delightful memories. Xx
We booked afternoon tea for a hen party of 24 people, and the experience was ABOVE AND BEYOND anything we could have imagined. Kate and Will gave us a wonderful welcome, the space was beautifully decorated, and the food and drinks were absolutely delicious (even the clotted cream was homemade)! We all couldn't stop talking about how lovely it was, and we wouldn't hesitate to book here again. Special thanks to Kate and Will for a superb experience from start to finish. They truly have created a hidden gem in the heart of Bristol.
I can’t recommend Ashwell and Co enough! The entire team has been amazing. It’s such a welcoming, warm and lovely environment there, and they have the most incredible selection of vintage bridal dresses and accessories for very reasonable prices. It has been a lovely experience interacting with them throughout. I will definitely be back for afternoon tea (which I am yet to try and looks delicious).
We had a truly delightful time at this store sampling their teas, scones and home made clotted cream.
The couple running the store were very welcoming, helpful and friendly.

The best afternoon tea in Bristol! This place is incredible- everything is homemade and I loved all of the unique flavours- it’s so nice to have a veggie afternoon tea that has been well thought out and creative! A must visit. Friendly atmosphere and great value! We will definitely be back again 🥰
Lovely afternoon tea - place is very Bristol (in a good way). Tasty, Interesting veggie sandwiches and none egg filled. Delicious scones and cakes too. Owner Will who served us was very friendly and shared some know-how, so we could try to recreate the sandwiches.
Ashwell made finding a special outfit a really wonderful experience. Kate really put me and my mum at ease and really listened to our concerns and preferences, choosing really special garments to try on. I'd recommend Ashwell & Co to anyone, particularly if you are nervous about finding a special/wedding outfit and want feel relaxed and not pressured. Thank you for a really great experience.

I booked a styling session with Kate at Ashwell & Co looking for an outfit for my son's wedding.
It was an absolute pleasure to visit this amazing shop full of wonderful vintage clothes and accessories. Kate and her assistant had already selected a number of dresses for me to try and to be honest I could have picked several of them, infact as well as the dress for the wedding I also purchased another of the dresses that I fell in love with.
After choosing the dress I wanted for the wedding Kate recommended a seamstress who could do some alterations and also someone who could make me a hat to match, both of them were amazingly helpful.
It all turned out fantastically well, I was so happy with all the elements of the outfit and would totally recommend a visit to this wonderful shop, I know they will be a regular on list when looking for any outfit be it for a special occasion or just an everyday outfit. It is so good to know you will not see anyone else in the same thing!
Their service is second to none from start to finish.

If you are looking for a vintage wedding dress I cannot recommend Kate and Ashwell and Co enough! When I got engaged, the thought of going to a traditional wedding dress shop filled me with anxiety and dread as I knew none of them would suit me or be true to me and my style. I also wanted our wedding to be sustainable as possible, so being able to achieve this whilst wearing a dress that holds so many memories with it was such a beautiful experience.
From the minute I messaged Kate to book an appointment I knew I was in safe hands - Kate is so warm and welcoming and just by looking at the dresses she had pulled for me I felt like she knew what I wanted better than I did! This was my first bridal appointment (over 2 years before my wedding) and I had no intentions of finding my dress that day but I ended up picking the 3rd dress I tried on...even though it was a long sleeved high neck dress I knew there was something about the 1970s style and gorgeous tulip lace that just resonated with me. Within minutes Kate had worked her magic and pinned it up into a stunning square neck, thick strapped dress and I knew in that moment I had found the one! Kate's recommended seamstress Constanze is an unbelievably talented women and was able to create my "dream" dress, even sparing all of the spare lace to create a stunning long bow for my hair.
Every interaction I've had with Kate and Constanze, and every time I've gone to their shop has been such a pleasant and warm experience that I am so very grateful for - I'll be sure to come back as often as I can to deck out the rest of my wardrobe!
