Overall, some incredible vegetarian food! It was great to see & taste some amazing dishes that was not a meat substitute, however … the fried food was not great, greasy & unpleasant, perhaps a light battering such as tempura rather than heavy deep fried to the point of reducing all flavour would be a better option, otherwise a great meal.

Excellent food but a little bit overly salty. The restaurant is quite small, book ahead as it gets full quickly. The food is really great, lots of flavour, but alot of it was overly salty. Lots of coriander used, so if your not a fan, perhaps not for you! Lots of choice on the menu.

Cute, small space with beautiful food! A hidden gem of Bristol. You definitely won't leave without feeling full and delightful. The food is really nice. The sevice is slow but that is because they make everything there and then. Which I didn't mind. The place is small and cosy, but definitely has a good vibe to it, that sticks to the theme. The only thing which was not quite to the theme was the music. There are no booze available, but you can definitely bring your own to the table. So good meals and a drink that you choose to bring and know it's good 👍 There are only vegetarian and vegan options available, but trust me this is not going to be a detrement to you meal. It is delicious!

The restaurant has incredible ambience and wonderful food – really incredible food. The dumplings are the easily the best I have ever had (and love dumplings). It's hard to find Chinese restaurants in the UK that aren't super greasy and heavy, but Suyuan is just divine. Ask the staff what food is best, they will help you build a selection that works well together to your taste. To add to which, everything is vegetarian and you can bring your own drinks. Probably my favourite restaurant in the South West.

So many vegan options! I tried some fried dumplings (D4), jasmine rice and a chef special dish with mushrooms and peppers (bao xiang xing bao gu - M13). Everything was delicious and flavoured perfectly! The wait was around 20-25 mins which we thought was alright. The interior was nice and cosy - a little small so make sure you book a table beforehand.

The food is amazing here!!! Everything we ate was delicious and the desserts were wonderful. But the wait staff suffers a bit when they are busy with a full house. We loved that food came from the kitchen as soon as it was hot off the pan but our drinks didn't require that level of work and took a long time to come to us and we had to ask for water for the table too. We would have been happy to have ordered tea or something else after our soft drinks but we were never greeted or asked by staff if we wanted anything else.

Went to this place on the recommendation of a friend - the food was absolutely delicious, really fresh and well cooked with interesting flavours. The service was slow at first but to be honest given how good the food was and how cheap the meal was I didn’t mind (my friends took me out for my bday and they only paid £16 each for loads of dishes!) and it’s BYOB, what’s not to like.

Loved the dishes but the service wasn’t great. Enjoyed having so many vegetarian options to choose from and was very happy with the noodles dumplings and mixed fruit juice/smoothie. I’d consider coming here again for a casual meal during quieter hours, but it’s not great for a special celebration on a Saturday night. Be warned when you order that they just bring the dishes/drinks in a haphazard order when it’s “ready”. So if you’re hoping for a starter to come before your main, you could be disappointed. I was also left over half an hour without any drink despite ordering this first. Eventually I gave up and asked for tap water as I was so thirsty from the salty food and this came 10 mins after our first request (we had to ask 3 times for it). The final straw was when we were nearly finished (but still clearly eating and drinking) and the waiter asked us if we could move from the pleasant window table we occupied to a less desirable middle table to accommodate a large group who’d just arrived. Instead we said we’d prefer to just leave - quickest bill I’ve ever seen arrive in a restaurant, much faster than the drink!

Lovely little vegetarian & vegan Chinese restaurant, a hidden gem. Authentic atmosphere and food. As a vegetarian, it was great to find a Chinese restaurant where i can eat anything on the menu! I enjoyed my evening here.

It is very hard to find such authentic Chinese vegetarian food not just in Bristol but in the UK. Food are made with natural ingredients instead of seitan and the taste really blew my mind away! Highly recommended to all vegetarians and even for non vegetarian to experience the joy of being a vegetarian!

The food was absolutely amazing. As a meat eater, I can’t believe “vegan + gluten free” food can be so tasty. I wouldn’t say it’s authentic Chinese food but it was super tasty. It was very flavourful, well seasoned, perfectly cooked. We all enjoyed it very much. We would love to come to Bristol again just for the food here and try everything on the menu. The staffs are also very friendly. We’ll definitely recommend this restaurant to all our friends and family.

My girlfriend and I were recommended this place based on their variety of vegan options and having now been it did not disappoint. We had a couple of delicious dishes. The bao Xiang xing bau gu was delicious and likewise was the suyuan special curry. Would recommend both. Staff were very nice too. The place is very understated when seen from the outside but very comfortable and inviting inside. Definitely going back. Also if you go you need to try the Suyuan bai cai xiang gu jiao zi. These cabbage mushroom dumplings are very good too.

Absolutely stunning food, so many options, all were delicious. Very affordable, we had a starter and a main each, a side of dumplings and rice and a desert to share and it came to £65 all together. BYOB and very accommodating with giving glasses and no corkage fee. atmosphere and the restaurants ambiance was lovely and staff were attentive and friendly. deffo recommend !

Outstanding food, atrocious music choice: The food at the place is absolutely amazing. The flavours are incredible and there's so much variety. Highly highly recommend. The only thing that baffles me is THEIR CHOICE IN MUSIC! It's the strangest combination to have delicious authentic Asian food paired with 2011 dance floor bangers? Like what are they thinking here?? 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️ Seriously though the food is good enough for this to not be a big problem and I've been back 3 times already. I think if they played more relaxing ambient music that matches the food, this would be a 10/10 restaurant.

This is a brand new all vegetarian restaurant. A group of us went on the opening day and sampled different dishes. The menu is very ample and offers much more than your standard stir fries. The food is absolutely fantastic and fresh and nicely presented. The staff are very friendly and offered us to sample different starters for a low fee. The restaurant doesn’t offer alcohol but the teas infused with fresh fruits are very nice and refreshing. The card machine wasn’t up and running yet when we visited so bring cash if you are planning to visit soon.

I don't even know where to start with this review. I chose to go to Suyuan because its a fully vegetarian restaurant. I didn't realize that on top of this the food would be authentic Chinese food, and that you could bring your own drinks without charge! Their special before 7pm is great value for all the amazing food you can get, and the employees there go above an beyond to make sure that everything is perfect! I can't wait to continue going here and making this a regular place to dine.
