OMG it is a really authentic Chinese restaurant! This 1/2 portion garlic soya chicken is so damn good! It is really tender and juicy! We also order the Steamed Pork in Shrimp Sauce in the second pic that is definitely delicious, but it may taste a bit too strong if you doesn’t like Chinese cuisine, but still definitely worth a try!
Definitely going again for the poached chicken!

Great Chinese food at a very reasonable price. All dishes taste nice and authentic. Food was quick and service isn’t bad. Ended up paying £16 per person which is very good for what we ate. Can be quite busy so reservation is recommended but not necessary on the day we went.

Totally amazing dishes.
Fried rice, tofu salt and chilli chicken were the best I had in UK.
It's a bit expensive buy worth it.
Long waits 35 to 55 minutes. Average of 45min

We visited for dinner on a Friday evening and really enjoyed our visit. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, and our food was delicious. We ordered a few different dishes including the crispy beef and chicken in black bean sauce and they were the best we'd ever tried. Pricing was very reasonable as well - we'll definitely be back!

Lovely Chinese restaurant in the bustling heart of Bristol. Astounding on the flavour front, great to share a meal between a group as well. It’s a good atmosphere. Part of the table rotates, always a plus. If anything a bit pricey.

Wonderful food, huge portions; there were eight of us so we went for the banquet for eight on the back of the menu; it was busy but the dishes came quickly. Ray, the head waiter is a legend; he will banter (after many visits he has got me to use chopsticks rather than suffer his raised eyebrow and disappointed look) but if he recommends something or suggests a different way to order, do listen. It's become the go-to special occasions restaurant for our group, and it's my absolute favourite place to eat in the UK. Just bring a huge appetite (Portions are large, and great value) and a sense of humour.

First Chinese restaurant outside of Asia that I've been to that actually serves authentic food. Totally delicious and definitely worth the price. Waiting time was reasonable given the place was full to the last table, and we ordered quite a few dishes.

Very authentic (real) Cantonese food. Portions are not cheap but big. My one dish and rice would have been enough for two people.

The dim sum is best I've had in a long time, the shumai was the best I've ever had and I've had a lot! The lady in the Gucci glasses who served me and my mum was very helpful and friendly, can't wait to come back again. Char sui and crispy duck were both delicious and generous portions.

Walking down the sketchy stairs towards the restaurant you are wondering whether someone is going to attack you with a bat! Fantastic food with interesting service (I would say it was so rude it was funny...we are not sure if this is intentional)... very entertaining yet authentic. When we asked for chopsticks my boyfriend had to prove he was capable to use them first. DEFFINITLY would come back. Lots of laughs due to service...

Probably the best Chinese restaurant food I've ever had and that is supported by the number and diversity of the visitors there. Excellent service as well 👍👍

Lovely welcome and brilliant service. Dont be deceived by the outside it's lovely inside and foot is great! Probably 80% Chinese custom there which says everything about how authentic and excellent it is.

Chinese restaurant for chinese....great menu.....restaurant is well hidden away And if you looked at it from the outside you probably would never go in, but that's our little secret.

The place has been there for a long time and it has surely seen better days, also the location in a sutarrain is not very posh. But the great food and very friendly service makes more than up for it. Everything we had was truly delicious.

I genuinely believe that Mayflower might be the most underrated restaurant in Bristol. I've had takeaway from there a lot in the past, but this is the first sit down meal that I've had in the restaurant.
• Everything was delicious
• The portions are enormous (I get the impression they expect you to order maybe 3 dishes between 4-5 people and share)
• There's loads of choice, including for vegetarians
• The value is pretty good
• The food doesn't feel as greasy or heavy as other Chinese restaurants I've eaten at in Bristol
• Service was very efficient and the food came quickly.
No notes, 5 stars.

Food was good. Service was relatively fast. The food still retains a Chinese style and flavour not "westernised"

Food is always very nice and clean, however the egg fried rice is a little too clean. Looks more like boiled rice with egg added, definitely not fried. Nevertheless nice food.
