We've been around almost all of Bristol's independent burger places now but this one tops the pile hands down. Every aspect of the burger is quality from the brioche roll, patty, to the bacon jam. The staff are great while you're there too!
Went in on spec. Had a lunch special cheeseburger fir £5. Outstanding. The flavour and succulence if the burger were amazing. The patty was not over pressed and gently crumbled. The sauces lifted the whole thing. The chef's explained they use a blend of organic beef cuts and purposely chose to go with classic American burger cheese so as not to overshadow the beef. It worked. Awesome.
Quirky place on the vibrant Gloucester Road. The burgers are attractive and absolutely delicious! You can double up for a cheap price, and the concise but tasteful menu offers a range of sides and drinks, including cocktails.
Absolutely fantastic burgers and the chilli fries were very tasty. Would definitely recommend!!
The £5 burger and fries deal is very good value for money!!
How have I not written a review for this yet?! Literally the best burgers in Bristol and I don't say that lightly! I've got no idea why they are but they're just absolute class. I'd eat here every day if I could 😂
The wait is over. The bear of burgers is here. And for what I gathered when I asked other people what do they think: TASTY is the least they have to say.
We tried a kids burger, we tried the veggie and we tasted the double.
None of them disappoint at all. Bun, sauces and the best meat ever dancing on the plate. No wonder as they use Popti & Beast's meat, a butcher in St Werburghs area with so much quality and flirt you should stop reading now to make your way there and have a chat and buy some of the best meat from people with so much passion, money well spend.
Anyway, all the burgers were amazing, tasty, perfectly cook, nice bun etc.
I will definitely be back even though the price point is not as enjoyable as the experience, and I will explain is just a minute why I call it that. I had in mind to have a good go at the triple burger. But at £17 is a bit much even for a burger lover. So I went for the double one to see if it live up to so much hype. And it did. It definitely did.
I saw couple of triple ones making their way to other tables. And I couldn't feel nothing else but jealousy. I'm sure I'll get over the price tag soon and I'll be there with my family again.
I love burgers, I can't stop having them. But what I love more than burgers is great service. And at Burger Bear they do that incredibly well. Nothing was too much for the team. The extra mile is a massive understatement in this establishment. Very quickly stop being dinner to continue to be an experience. The kids were well look after and that is the best trick in a restaurant from the staff: "look well after my kids and I'll look deep into my pockets when the bill comes out".
Adults were properly look after with great gin and slim lime tonic (they didn't have any but they went out of their way to get some for us) and extra icea and all the answers etc. All the boxes were tick and re-tick. Very quickly we forgot about the price tag and enjoy as we felt comfortable.
Go, have a go, try what the bear is doing. He is doing it well. Him and his team are set for success in a saturate market with burgers and bad burgers.
