I love coming here, the food is delicious, and constantly with new dishes on the menu. Everyone who works there is so lovely and creates a great atmosphere. The music is always brilliant, and the coffee is perfect! A great place to work, meet friends or just hang out! Thank you for always making me feel welcome!

I can not speak more highly of this great cafe. The best sourdough toasties in the southwest - bigger than you can imagine and packed with amazing fillings. Always such lovely staff, great coffees and just an all round wonderful place. I think we’ve taken every visitor we’ve had here. Today I had the veggie sausage sourdough toastie - amazing.

You don’t have to appreciate modern art to enjoy one of the best priced cafes in Bristol. You’ll find a relaxed atmosphere and friendly service at this plant filled hidden gem (🤫) inside the former tea factory gallery and the most satisfying toasted sourdough sandwiches in the city. If that’s not your thing there’s a range of flavourful breakfast and lunch dishes that changes daily (plenty of vegetarian/ vegan options), super healthy artful blended juices / smoothies and salad loaded with fresh quality v generously portioned ingredients. Ideal for: people watching, escaping “work from home” or leisurely catching up with your best friend. Accessibility: There aren’t enough step free access places in Bristol (w disabled parking outside) but this is one. Baby, bicycle and dog friendly (seen all 3 regularly). M2 metrobus stop outside. Top tips: ask for the extras (and jalapeños) with your toastie or share it and leave room for cake. Do weekend brunch with chill tunes😉, iced coffee or lunch with proper draft Bristol Beer Co IPA on a warm day (or Clear Head n/a beer if you’re recovering). Ps: eating here supports the charitable foundation (where Aardman originated), the Bristol arts scene and helps keep the gallery free to visit. Cake consumption with a clear conscience 😇😇!!! Check out the art too!

This is where I come at least once a week to eat fantastic real food made with skill and love. It’s in a fascinating location next to the New Cut, and as I’m an old hippie and a creative, I can watch the latest generation of my people coming and going to the Spike Island Gallery while scoffing the most amazing toasted sourdough cheese and kimchi sandwiches I have ever experienced….really! Outside on the other side of the road, beyond the old docks railway and the ‘Chocolate Path’ cycle track, the river ebbs and flows. The staff are great and the coffee is remarkable too! Looking forward to my next visit…

Great little place I wish I had found earlier! I could eat their kimchi toasties all day long. Spike island cafe feels like one of the few places in Bristol that offers genuine homemade food. Bonus of being able to park on the road close by as parking is free on weekends. Easily reached by bike or on foot if you arent driving however. Will definitely be coming back 😀

A lovely cafe with great selection of breakfast and lunch items! The ice tea was superb!!!! It was so lovely that they warmed up the vegan sausage rolls as well :) Would love to try other drinks in the future as well :) The staff were lovely as well. The cafe was a little warm so having some fans on the hot weather could be better.

Hands down the best café in Bristol. Super wide range of amazing food. Whether you want a croissant, a salad (rich with pickles, the way it should be) or a monumental cheese toastie, it bangs. Great coffee, lovely staff. The prices are so reasonable too, and they always have interesting specials on. The space is big and airy, full of light, and it always has a chilled vibe, even when packed! Great tunes too. 11/10 it’s the café of dreams

I love this place! The vibe, the food and the coffee are impeccable. The portion sizes don't leave you hungry. Now that the Emmeline branch in Stokes Croft is closed I'll be heading to the Spike Island one to get my fix. 5 stars all round

Amazing fresh food Lovely setting decorated with lots of greenery and modern. Loads of choice on the menu. Had kimchi and ruben toastie. Great staff who accommodated lots of tweaks to the offering for one diner. Best place we have eaten brunch in the last 5 years - recommend !!

BEST SALAD in Bristol! We're going here nearly every week for every changing salads which are really big for their price, and you just feel amazing afterwards. Friendliest staff and nice location, great for watching cyclists going pass. Emmelines cafe is one reason to live in Bristol, check it out! :)

Had a grilled sourdough sandwich which was nice, think i should have passed on the pickles though, they were a bit overwhelming. Cafe was quiet when I went on but picked up as time went on

Food here is exceptional, lot of attention to detail and super tasty, huge portions aswell. We hoped there would be hot breakfast stuff (went at 1 on sat) but there was a good selection of toasties, soup etc and pastries. Very nice juices and coffee. Lovely setting with lots of plants. Very nice place.

Our new favourite weekend brunch spot! Discovered this place a few months ago. The food is delicious, the staff are wonderful and add extra finishing touches to make the food look beautiful. The space is lovely and light with lots of plants, super chilled vibes and tunes and because the food is healthy, you feel great afterwards too. Looking forward to many more treats in here. Thanks guys!

Really beautiful little cafe in a great location on Bristol harbour. Love all the plants! Lovely atmosphere and the staff were all really friendly, attentive and accommodating! Gorgeous selection of food and drinks and all reasonably priced too. We have eaten here a few times and the food has been exceptional every time. Best sourdough toasties we’ve ever had, and the same statement goes for the scrambled eggs (special request from one of the specials available) & the muesli is delightful! All cakes and pastries we’ve tried are wonderful - I recommend trying the chocolate stout cake! Salads are also delicious and the portions very generous!

This is a great spot run by some great people, its great to have it back open, I thjnk in the pandemic ot opened as a neighbourhood kitchen for those in needs (good on you!) brilliant sourdough sandwiches and good salads... from what I can tell I never get past the sourdough. Coffee, cake, beer and nice setting woth some seating outside. open to the public. I've never had anyone there be rude and I've only ever observed good service so perplexed by the previous review.
