Off the beaten track but definitely worth the trip through beautiful countryside and stunning villages. Sunday lunch was superb - I had roast sirloin of beef with beautifully sweet roasted carrots, crisp roast potatoes and Yorkshire pudding filled with bacon and sprouts.

Lovely pub in this small tucked away village. What a find! Visited on Sunday. It was too hot for roast for me so I had the fish and chips which were delicious. My husband and friends had the roast and it looked delicious! Will be returning!
We had been to visit Stowe and were looking for a place for lunch and found the Bull & Butcher. It looked a bit scruffy on the outside but inside was nice and friendly and had a garden where we ate. The menu was not too big, which is always a good sign in my opinion but a good variety of dishes.
Lovely pub in Akeley. Quick, friendly service, straight forward menu, nice food, good prices. I had a chicken salad which really was good. Son had a burger, again excellent. And their onion rings were massive!
