We've had visitors three weeks on the run and have been to River Life Cafe three times in a row and each time has been amazing food and really friendly perfect service! Highly recommend to locals and tourists! Breakfast is really good!!!
Had breakfast at this lovely cafe/ bistro, breakfast excellent catered for vegetarians and meat eaters. Comfy surroundings, booked for evening meal at weekend.
River Life is the best cafe in Bude and serves the best hot chocolate. Very friendly and also dog friendly, lovely staff and great food.
great food, staff and ambience..inside or out it's a great cafe..
Friendly owner and staff, excellent food and atmosphere
What lovely ladies thank you so much for today ! Me and my two boy's and mum got blocked in by a inconsistent local businesses owner today was waiting around for over 2 hours and they kindly offered us tea and drinks for my boys and some biscuits x
Staff are very welcoming and make you feel like they have known you for ages. Both coffee and food is excellent. Very highly recommended. Will definitely be back when we visit Bude again next year.
Really pleased to discover this friendly little cafe! Gorgeous baguettes and paninis for lunch; wish we'd had room for some cake too!
Tucked away in a surprising destination - but great for that. Lovely staff, food was great. Not the greatest of views but made up for by the food and friendliness of staff. Will definitely go back.
Wonderful food , excellent value with friendly staff and keen prices and dog friendly!
As locals to Bude we use Riverlife for takeaway coffees which are always fab, but today we decided to try out the food as we have visitors from the Midlands down too, wow why haven't we come here sooner!?! Full breakfast was amazing, so fresh and delicious! We ordered toast for our 3 year old and I asked if it could come out early which they were happy to oblige. Also my son wanted peanut butter which wasn't on the menu but the man on the counter checked and found some for him, what service! 5 happy customers who will be back, highly recommend!
Great service. Great Staff and a GREAT breakfast. It's an absolute must when we visit from Wales...and you can take your dog!
Although short staffed the day we went, the food was served quickly. We all had cooked breakfast, which was delicious!
Nice place to sit for a hot drink or lunch after a walk by the canals and nature reserve. Vegetarian options. I had salad baguette. Very filling. Dog friendly and has 1 unisex toilet that is clean and spacious.
Lovely staff, dog friendly and lovely food for a reasonable price
Great food, service and prices. Dogs welcome. Very popular, thanks.
Visiting the area at the end of April, sat outside as the cafe was very busy inside, obviously a popular little place. Well priced food & good service.
Lovely local cafe, great english breakfast, decent coffee ;))
Very lovely staff and quiet, sunny place :)
Superb burrito breakfast wrap. Lovely staff.
Arrived at 3:20pm - there was no-one inside and just two people on a table outside. Perhaps not too surprising as it closes at 4pm. Service was a bit slow - I stood waiting at the desk for about 2 minutes before someone showed up. A service bell would be a good idea.
I ordered a Cornish pasty (£4.50), lemon & raspberry cake (£3), latte (£3) and canoli (£1). Pasty was good; beef was tender and not chewy. I may have preferred it cold as I had it warmed up which was done in the microwave, softening the pastry quite a bit. Cake was OK, not outstanding. Would prefer it more moist and with more flavour of lemon and raspberry.
However, I mainly came for the latte, which I asked to be very hot, and it was! Good flavour, medium-to-large size mug. Overall a reasonable meal - perhaps if I came earlier and tried a special dish like their quiche, I would have awarded 5 stars.
The free Wi-Fi is also a bonus, and there are some sockets on walls for laptop charging. Decent parking area outside with a wide entrance. The exterior is welcoming and the interior is quite spacious too, so it shouldn't feel cramped even at busy times.
Wow, what can I say about this place? Fantastic staff who are incredibly kind and provide the best service in bude, amazing food and a very large menu at a very affordable price, a fantastic place to stop by and have morning coffee or lunch, if your going anywhere in bude, go Riverlife! Very nice owners who are great to talk to and run the place very very well, just all out one of, if not the best places in bude, fast service and quality ingredients. I haven’t eaten here in a while, but I’m definitely looking forward to my next visit if i get the opportunity
Lovely lunch from the specials board today. Staff are very helpful even when it is a very busy day - like today.
Prices food quality are good.
It is a regular eatery for.many people!
Lovely location. Friendly staff. Great food... really priced and good value for money. Well presented and seasoned perfectly.
Some of the best food I’ve had in a long time!
I went for lunch with my auntie. I was early so I popped in to get a drink and when I came outside, all the tables had been taken. Fortunately, there was one table left inside. It was a little cramped and warm indoors, but it wasn’t too bad. I’m gluten free and I ordered the bacon, Brie and cranberry gluten free sandwich. My auntie got the goats cheese, Mediterranean veg and pesto sandwich. I checked when I arrived that they had gluten free bread (my back up was a jacket potato), however when I ordered, the server returned and said they didn’t have any and asked if a GF wrap would be okay. I said this was fine, and when it came, it was a sandwich. The server offered my sandwich to my auntie, claiming it was the goat’s cheese sandwich, despite the visible cranberry sauce. I said I thought they were the other way round, as the other sandwich had visible pesto. At this point, I asked (to confirm) if mine was on gluten free bread, and the server wasn’t sure and had to return to the kitchen to check. Other than this slight hiccough, the food and drink were lovely and it was a pleasant visit. I would recommend this cafe, but I’m not so sure about it for anyone with serious allergies and there was some confusion
Excellent all round. Well done. We will certainly return.
Stayed open for us on our walk . Lovely people running this cafe.
A hidden gem. Lovely Cafe we found by chance whilst walking along the toll path. Staff are very friendly and welcoming. All the food is homemade and the cheese scones were amazing, the cream tea was excellent. Well worth a visit, we will definitely be back.
