If you want great, freshly cooked fish and chips this is the place to come. Locally caught fresh fish all cook to order. It is marginally more expensive than elsewhere but then it is a lot better. The only downside is that food is cooked to order, so you might have to wait at peak times. So, turn a negative to a positive and order on-line or by phone and set your collection time. You won't be disappointed.
We ate in the restaurant. The service was excellent with happy, friendly staff. The fish and chips were amazing because everything was perfectly cooked with no grease. The mushy peas were spot on, too.
They have a specials board, so we had the haddock and the plaice that was caught freshly in Brixham that morning. The batter had a great flavour and was perfectly crunchy.
They have a kids menu with smaller meals like chicken nuggets and chips.
There is a good selection of soft drinks and they also have local beers for sale.
If you're still hungry after your main course (you won't be) there's a dessert menu and you can get coffee in cafetieres.
I highly recommend trying this restaurant.
Amazing fish and chips, the batter was crispy and the fish very tender. Generous portion of peas. We also had a very tasty fish pie and delicious desserts (crumble, and honey and ginger sponge pudding)
Very polite and helpful staff. Had a great fishcake and chips. Fishcake rather than potato cake! Much better than the normal takeaway variety. Food cooked to order so was fresh and hot. Thanks for our seaside lunch!
Brilliant fish and chip restaurant and take away. Attentive owner very knowledgable on his fish and source. Even had white bait as a taster while we waited for the main dish. Lovely gesture and the cod and chips were exceptional. Sampled the apple and blackberry crumble and custard too also very nice. Note shorter hours due to staff shortages so check that was 5 to 8 on our visit. Wanted to return but it didn’t work out during our stay in Budleigh.
Great chippy! I had a pint across the road while I waited for my order (they gave me a buzzer to let me know). Excellent food - I had locally landed hake, which was cooked very nicely. And they proudly identified where their fish was from and that there were certain trawlers they will not buy from, which I support. The guy serving was very generous and the young guy who took the order lovely too. Chips were great with lots of crispy bits in - that’s what you want though right?! I’d definitely go back next time we’re here and recommend others do the same.
Recommend the grilled sword fish plate, very simple and delicious. For me the best I've had anywhere else.
A fabulous fish & chip restaurant, everything fresh, well sourced and cooked to order. Delicious food and fabulous friendly staff. There is almost always a queue, as it’s a popular place, yet certainly well worth the wait!

Visited here on Friday evening with family we didnt pre order
I had a cheese burger which was only ok bread roll was very dry and only a bit of lettuce and cheese so was a little disappointed but the rest of the family enjoyed the fish/fish cakes and chips, will visit again and I would pre book and order the fish.
Have been going for years, friendly staff, great fish and chips, even gluten free if you wish.
The seafront is a wonderful place to enjoy eating them.
We spotted this as we were walking around the town, really good choice to eat here, service was tops and attentive, and the food was spot on, fish was fresh as was the batter, chips were really good and crispy.
