Built in 1289 this is true old wonderful local pub. They have a wonderful selection of food and the curries were great. The beer was cool and the history surrounds you as the locals come in and greet you. Funny thing in 2011 Davia Hasselhoff visited this quaint pub.
Came here twice for dinner as we were staying nearby. We don’t normally return to the same place as we like to try something different however the food was so good and plentiful that we were glad we did. Only a small place, it felt like a local but as a visitor were made to feel welcome enough. I ca
So sorry to hear this pub may close. Had another super Sunday roast. Meat tender and plenty of freshly cooked vegetables, proper crackling and also enough gravy as well. ( So often get a thimbleful elsewhere) Hope it's not the last time we visit.
It was recommended by a host, and after our first visit we realised she was correct. We visited three more times during a holiday in the area. The beer was excellent the genial landlord was excellent and the food and service were wonderful.
We ate there 4 nights while at the Urdd eisteddfod wirh our children. Very welcoming, child friendly & gluten free obliging. Even made a gluten free crumble especially for me. Thank you
Great pub, oldest in Powys. Present landlord retiring unfortunately, not sure who will replace him. Nice simple campsite next door. Great food and beer. A lovely place to be.
Great home-cooked food and friendly service. Even found space to park a small(ish) motorhome adjacent to the pub. Would recommend booking in advance since they do look to get busy in peak season due to their popularity and reputation in the area. Easy to find.
