Review The Falcon - Buntingford

Visiting for the weekend from London & honestly, food was amazing. Mussels were an incredible starter, the grilled sole was immaculate and we also got the slow roasted rump from the specials menu. Would definitely come back here again if we’re in the area. Make sure you book to avoid disappointment!!!

We visited last night for a special birthday meal. The welcome was warm, homely and genuine. Drinks were good, reasonably priced and paired well with the food on offer. We had Seafood starters and they both were well portioned, fresh and the accompanying sauces were well balanced. For main we took the Beef Wellington for 2. This was undoubtedly the star of the show, this is very hard to get right. The pastry was crisp and tasty whilst the Beef remained perfectly moist, tender and flavoursome it came accompanied with veg and a sauce which was the perfect mix. For Dessert we took the Tarte Tatin for 2 - realistically it could be for 4 it was huge, and whilst not your traditional way of making it, we really enjoyed it and it finished off a great meal. The atmosphere was relaxed, service attentive and warm. We would very much come back again.

Good meal and ambiance. Service was accommodating but slightly slow. Slightly under salted mains, but overall well prepared and nicely plated. Appropriately priced.

The Falcon in Buntingford is brilliant! The venue is so beautiful and offers a wonderful atmosphere. I often visit for my morning coffee, and sometimes pick up some bits from their delicatessen- which is all so tasty! My husband and I visited for an evening meal recently, and the food was cooked to perfection and was absolutely delicious! If you're a local, or not, I recommend that you make your way to The Falcon for breakfast, lunch or dinner 🍴

Another fabulous meal at the Falcon. Lovely cosy atmosphere. The attention to detail including silver napkin rings,’proper’ red wine glasses, being offered the chance to taste the wine first etc. all added to the experience of a special meal. The staff were lovely, friendly helpful and attentive. Food was delicious, the steak cooked perfectly to our specification, everything nicely seasoned. Our favourite dessert is the tarte tatin which serves 2 generously and even shared with 3 was more than enough! The pie was enormous too served in an individual dish .We are lucky to have a high quality restaurant on our doorstep. Thank you for a lovely meal x

I felt prompted to write a review for The Falcon due to the false review I have seen commenting on the treatment of staff behind the scenes in the restaurant. I am both an employee of the restaurant and a customer because the food and drinks are too irresistible to miss when I see them on a daily basis. I have loved working for the The Falcon the entire year and a half I have been here. It has also been wonderful working for and with Kieren and Vanessa as they have brought changes to management and environment of the restaurant since the refurbishment a couple of months ago. They always look to solve any issues brought to them and look out for all members of staff with great care. We also enjoy socialising outside of shift time together and I don’t believe myself or my colleagues would do so if they didn’t enjoy the company of our bosses. I hope this reassures anyone looking to book a table at The Falcon that they should have no concern surrounding the treatment of staff. It is a wonderful place as a customer and as an employee.

Incredible. Best Sunday roast in a long time. Perfectly cooked beef, stunning Eton mess (wouldn't normally have this but thought I should) and wonderful service and atmosphere. I am already looking forward to going back... Slightly annoyed I'm not there right now tbh

We visited The Falcon after taking a bus ride to Buntingford. We had a very enjoyable meal in pleasant surroundings. Excellent chef and waitress. Hope we can come again sometime.

Steak night at The Falcon was fantastic. The food was cooked to perfection and service was flawless. We had a really fun evening and will definitely be returning soon. The best restaurant in Buntingford by a country mile. The fillet steak and Jacob's ladder stilton mac & cheese are a must have, washed down with a smooth glass of merlot. Thank you for a wonderful evening.

Been coming here for years, always excellent but last night deserved a special mention; 7 of my family attended to celebrate a belated birthday. The food, service, wine, ambience, everything was perfect. Best meal out I’ve had in years. Thank you so much. I had the beef Wellington which was out of this world. A lot of reviews mention the fine detail that goes into the restaurant and that’s what I think sets it apart, everything is to such a high standard. We’ll be back!!!

This was one of the most delicious meals I have had recently. The quality of the cooking was outstanding. The beef wellington was melt in the mouth with flaky, fantastic pastry. We were in the private room upstairs, a great place for a celebration or just a get together with friends. The service was great, super efficient and lots of smiles. A really wonderful experience. Thank you! Really looking forward to trying the Sunday roast.

We recently had our wedding breakfast in the private dining room. The room was beautiful, the food amazing and the service was exceptional, the staff were personable, attentive and really couldn't have done more for us. Kieran took the time to discuss a menu and our requirements and came up with some wonderful added extras. Thank you for making our wedding afternoon so special, it was perfect.

Delicious meal at The Falcon attending their Thursday Steak Night. Lovely atmosphere, food was incredible (- particularly the 5 hour braised Jacob's ladder & Stilton macaroni cheese!) and great service. Highly recommend.
