My favourate gastronomic retreat. One meal i particularly like is for starters- Green lipped mussels in a chilli sauce. Followed for main course by Sweet and sour mixed meat special with fried rice. Lots if others to. Excellent food cooked by chef and owner Raymond Chan. And the perfect host to greet you also the owner Carole chan. Not forgetting the young ladies waiting on. Visited this restaurant as part of a treat for a special little boys birthday....we went pictures afterwards....I'd booked ahead just in case (you never know what places are like with kids). From the moment we arrived till the moment we left the staff were superb. Attentive and polite and very helpful. The food was excellent. Great starters and the mains were delicious. They even made a special non peas or onion chicken fried rice dish for the birthday boy...Might not sound much but that attention to detail dosnt go unnoticed with us. The girls even gave him a little ice cream dish afterwards with a candle. He was made up. no delay in anything we orderded. 5 stars all the way...we will be back again...Hopefully soon 😀😀 thank you.

A nice place to spend an evening!
I went there to celebrate a friend's birthday party on 20/4/18. Out of our group of about twenty, I was the solitary vegetarian. There's always one...
The staff excelled themselves with superb veggie-friendly soup, starter and main. The soup simply was the best I have ever tried.
Normally, I Really, Really dislike eating out. Unless it's at a supermarket cafe for breakfast :-)
However, The Red Lantern is a place that I would look forward to revisit.
Reasonable prices and a nice, friendly service. I hope that you're paying them more than pocket-money wages, even though most of those we saw are 16-18. Thanks.
PS: You might want to consider modernizing your male washroom?

Went there with a group of 17 people the service was excellent nice and friendly staff. The food was very good lots to choice from and the prices were good. Would defenilty recommend red lantern and would go again

One of the best Chinese restaurants in the area, I eat here regularly. The staff are great and are informative when discussing the menu. Staff are knowledgable on the ingredients, allergens and calorie content.
Food is fantastic each and every time. My favourites are the tiger prawns and the salmon and black bean. Banquet menu is great for sharing with my wife. All in all a great place

Great food, though very mainstream UK Chinese style. The basement atmosphere is really appealing and cosy. The best feature of this restaurant, however, is the friendliness and professionalism of the staff. They really look after you, and ensure you have a relaxed and enjoyable evening.
