Had a fabulous birthday lunch. The location is stunning irrespective of the weather. The food was delicious, the salt and pepper squid did not disappoint. My Dad thoroughly enjoyed his roast and my mum declared the hake was the best she'd ever tasted. The wine list is balanced and extensive, I settled on the Cabernet Franc which for red as the menu suggested worked well with fish.

Sunday night in West Dorset not so many places where you can eat after 8.30. I arrived off the Poole ferry and the service was so fine we relaxed on the terrace and then feasted on wonderful food inside with a full of the bay at high tide and the sun going down. Excellent meal, excellent service

8 of us went for lunch to celebrate a birthday and the food was excellent. No complaints from any of us. My dish was a gluten free crepe with a delicious topping.

Visited for Saturday lunch, didn't stay over in the accommodation. Thay said, the decor in the rooms downstairs in the restaurants, library or toilets are of high standard. Fantastic big windows looking out to sea, which open up in the summer. Staff were very attentive, extremely friendly. Menu isn't huge, mostly focuses on fish dishes. Other vegetarian options and some beef/chicken too (only for starters at the time I believe). Bathrooms have heavenly scented hand-wash and handcream! Stunning surroundings to walk off the lunch.

What a joy it is to come to England and be hosted so warmly and attentively without an ounce of pretentiousness. The Seaside boarding house is a gorgeous place tastefully and beautifully done without ever looking like it's trying. It's comfortable and cozy with a nice bar and nicer library to lounge around after a long and inevitably brisk walk along the coast or beach. The restaurant is good, the chairs comfy and the fresh flowers on each table just lovely. The staff are wonderful people and help make the whole experience a 5 star one, at least for me. Grazie

Had supper at SBH. Great location, and staff warm and welcoming. Had a table in the bar, which was lovely. The fresh local sardines were the best we'd ever tasted. Wonderful to have such a broad choice of fresh fish on a menu. The cods roe was delicious. Staff were jolly, and knowledgeable of local attractions. Stayed here a few years ago, and it is a special hotel. The best linen on the beds, and amazing bathrooms. Vibe is very much informal, casual. Love it.

Stopped at this location for lunch - fish and chips In their restaurant. They had run out of Cod so offered us John Dory instead which I must say is a very tasty fish. The hotel / restaurant is on top of a broad cliff overlooking the sea and we watched paragliders silently float by as we lunched.

Room did have a sea view though our room the view was obscured by fire exit railings. My lamb rump was excellent perfectly cooked and lots of it. Staff were friendly.

Lovely spot by the sea. Great cocktails from a brilliant barman. Personally my pudding was extremely disappointing fit £10. Go for the drinks and location though.

Fabulous venue for a special birthday lunch. I could have chosen almost every dish on the menu and the birthday cake the chef made was to die for. An outstanding restaurant.

Had an amazing time celebrating my friends’ wedding at the Seaside Boarding House. The service was top notch, the staff was extremely friendly, efficient and welcoming. We loved the food which was delicate and refreshing. The cocktails were very good in particular the sunset tequila. The view was outstanding. Thank you for having us, we had a really great time!

The cheese soufflé was probably the best single plate of food I've ever eaten. The food and service were very good, but the souffle was off the chart.

I was working at the seaside boarding house for a wedding. I wasn’t feeling very well & was exhausted. The staff were so kind giving me blankets and making sure I was okay. I really appreciated their kindness especially that day after having an awful morning before I arrived for work. A huge thank you to the staff for being such lovely people and going out of their way. It meant so much.
