Great place for an afternoon out, the cafe is nice although a little expensive. Kids love the summer sand beach & the winter Ice rink. It’s nice to be able to stroll around the plants section at your own pace. Can get quite busy mid week & weekends in the afternoons.

This is a nice garden centre with a good selection of plants, pets and other bits for around the house, I particularly like looking around the pet and aquatic area at the different animals they have for sale (Rabbits to Lizards, Reptiles and fish.

Everything you could want to keep your garden looking beautiful and the staff are very good , plus very helpful . Plants can be quite expensive but a fantastic Cafe with great food and drinks. Now a large pet shop with animals and everything you need for them . Very good Cafe " only ever had coffee ☕️ " the cakes looked lovely and will definitely go in an try . Good offer's on plants , shrubs , containers and pots. Took my grandson to the skating ⛸️ , they do it every year and you have to book a slot at the bretby garden centre or on line .

Lots of choice of good plants, well presented.
Also has a nice shop and good cafe.
Cafe has a good range of food and drinks, but one observation is that they always seem to be slow in clearing tables of customers plates etc

Great place for a garden lover. Lots of plants to choose from. Also very friendly staff and playground for kids. Lovely cafeteria and food. Have been many times and always great food.

Great range of garden plants, and accessories. We loved the bouncy castles and sandpit for my toddler, and also the rabbits and small pets were a bonus for him to watch.
We do think the cafe is rather overpriced for food which isn't that great sadly.

Great little garden centre, lots of choices for plants, gifts, and pet supplies. They also have some great home stuff I didn't know about. The cafe seemed really popular, and the kids all seemed to be enjoying themselves.

I've lived in Burton for over 30 years. I went here for the first time last week. I loved it. Lovely food in the restaurant which uses a local butcher. They have rabbits, rats, gerbils, budgies and other animals for sale. Plus an aquatic section. Also a gift shop! I love gift shops

The newly installed play area and sand pit it good to keep children occupied at no cost.
The cafe is right next to the play area so you can sit and have a drink/food whilst overlooking your kids.
This is all under cover so you can get the use out of this no matter the weather.
A wide selection of food and drink to choose from at a reasonable price.
Public toilets and baby change is also available at the cafe.
Massive selection of plants, furniture etc at reasonable prices for a garden centre.
Well worth a trip especially if you have children!

Nice big garden centre with a variety of things. Really nice big Christmas display. While I don’t agree with selling animals at pet shops or garden centres, however the enclosures they were kept in are better than pets at home. The bird cages were spacious and had a lot more enrichment than most pet shops provide. I would always recommend adopting instead of buying pets, even small mammals such as hamsters and rabbits.

Visited you on Friday the 13th as my Mum. Choose to come here for her birthday lunch as normally you are very good with great food and staff. However this time it was appalling service with grumpy staff wearing filthy aprons, waited 45 minuets for food, which was a total disappointment, The milk for the tea was going off my daughters potato faces were black. The handle on the tea pot was chipped and get sharp Mum nearly cut herself on it ..... definitely not the birthday lunch she was after ...

Bit disappointed kids loved it went to order food and drinks first tills not working then coffee machines down had my money back then they were working redone my order sat waiting for it to come no food arrived .on seeing people arrive after me and getting their food I enquirer my order was lost so after nearly an hour of waiting my food arrived I was offered free drinks as an apology by the young girl which I said not your fault but had to hurry the children with their food then as needed to get them home .so not a very good morning

A great garden centre. But please don't try to sell reptiles when you clearly have no idea about keeping them. All the cages had poor lighting and wrong substrates. And the food provided was not only inadequate but mouldy which suggests you don't do regular checks

A good trip was spoilt by the staff in the restaurant, there was a long queue for food and drinks, I was queuing for over 5 minutes before I got to the front. When it was my turn to be served I asked for a bacon cob, only to be told they stopped serving breakfast at 11:30, the time was 11:35, I explained that I had been queuing for over 5 minutes unfortunately the staff wouldn't take into account my queuing time, I wasn't asking for a full breakfast or more than one item, it was a very cold day and wanted something not not heavy, very disappointed

We often visit Bretby garden centre, it was really busy yesterday. I've never seen the car park so packed. Garden centre is worth a visit and the gift shop is good too. Loved the craft / food fair, and the ice rink looked impressive compared to some I've seen in similar settings.

Nice garden centre. Lovely food in the restaurant. I like it that they have a play area for the kids. Nice gift shop too.

Nice set up with well looked after plants.
I expect to pay a little more at a Garden centre compared to the sheds, the extra staff and care cost more.
However 17.99 for a 3 litre Cordyline is seriously pushing it.
We left empty handed, went elsewhere and bought one for £8.

Our visit was to buy plants, greenhouse accessories and enjoy breakfast - and everything was top notch. Lovely creamy porridge and the best poached eggs on lovely brown toast. And your clever delivery system meant the food came very quickly. (Suggest fruit or compote to add to porridge :-)
We bought both perennial and bedding plants and were spoilt for choice - the quality was excellent. You can see that you look after your plants and a staff member was trimming some of them whilst someone else was watering. We heard one customer ask for help with choosing plants and the staff member was brilliant, taking time to suggest plants and showing them to her. We got greenhouse sundries and prices we expected to pay. So, thank you, you are clearly working hard to make your garden centre the best in the area and we shall be back, soon. :-)

Went to planters for a sandwich today. Told I would have to wait till 4 o'clock. Went back at 4:05 can't have a sandwich or piri piri chips. Only off this menu. If you were all singing from the same hymn sheet I would not have waited for 15 mins to order a snack that was no longer on the menu. How difficult is it to make a sandwich. Not going there again. Disgusting treatment to the members of public.

I think this garden centre is great. I can't comment on the restaurant as I didn't use it. The centre was well stocked and I noticed it had the beach again. Along with the play area at least one parent can shop without the kids getting bored. The items they sell are lovely. I will be back shortly to get some goodies for the garden. I have my eye on a few things.

Had breakfast there on Sunday and it was really good excellent sausage and bacon all cooked to perfection plus a positive for me they sent individual butter out instead of smothering the toast
Jon Hambridge
Just been to a private party in the cafe, food was fresh plus plenty of it and staff were brilliant. Thankyou.

Always enjoy Planters at Bretby especially at this time of year, restaurant food good although could do with more staff.
All staff very polite and helpful
